Jeez, I remember that thread 4 years ago when Re;surrection was announced. Everyone was fucking celebrating. But now look at this, they literally killed all the hype with those pathetic movies.

That night was great.

I'm excited for something new and fresh, especially if we get a TV series out of one of these, but yeah, you can see there is little enthusiasm after the movies. Thats what happens when you make a mediocre movie only shippers like.

I might be a shipper as well. But I'm still a geassfag. And I hated those movies.
I hated recaps. I hated the AU. I hated changing the plot. I hated pacing. I hated the amount of things they cut. I hated the fact that the sequel was also a movie instead of 24 episodes. I hated how bad the plot for the final movie was. I hated the fact they made some important characters absolutely irrelevant. I hated those movies so much that I didn't really get a chance to appreciate my ship finally becoming canon (or "canon" because it's AU).

These are gonna suck. People liked Lelouch, the R1 and R2 plot shitstorms, and the kino ending. The resurrection movie was ok for fanservice, but that's about it. Now they're just slapping the name on some boring new shit

His story is done. No need to ever drag him back. Thats what Re;surrection was about and it sucked.

If Code Geass has to continue as a franchise, it should do what Gundam does. New casts and settings is better than milking one for more than its worth.

Lulu WAS the Char Clone. In fact Code Geass was originally an ordinary Sunrise mecha anime with Suzaku as the hero. But then they decided that Lulu was cooler.

To be honest, many anons also predicted that it would be shit and a disgrace to the original series. And they were fucking right.

If you are speaking about Shirley, than she was irrelevant in the series too. She was a bit useful in first season, because of Mao arc (but even then you could change a bit in this arc, for example remove unnecessary romantic elements, and replace her with Milly), but in R2 nothing would have changed if she had been removed entirely.

You need to watch/rewatch the series, or buy yourself a brain.

Tell me what would have changed if she was not in the show. Lelouch wouldn't have destroyed Geass Order? Then V.V. would destroy it himself, the end result is the same.
Lelouch wouldn't hate Rolo? No, he already hated him for trying to take Nunnaly's place.
He wouldn't have started ZR? How did Shirley impact his decision on it then?
He wouldn't be able to go to stores and get away from being watched the way he did in Turn 3? It can simply be rewritten with Rivalz, or any random girl from Ashford.
He wouldn't have spoken about love in Turn 11? He could ask C.C. about it, and it is in character for her to give him such answer to that question. And this scene was stupid anyway, the show would have only improved by omitting it.
What role of her in R2 did I forget?
And in the first season, love towards Lelouch played no special role for Mao arc and Stages 12-13, Shirley's love could be replaced by Milly's friendship with no change for the overall plot.
