Why does a kung fu master use a nuke

why does a kung fu master use a nuke
isn't that cheating?

Why would Netero care about cheating? He wanted to win and would do anything necessary to do so.

>ITT: OP learns about deconstruction for the first time

why does togashi get paid bank to do nothing
isn't that cheating?

because it wasn't part of the fight. Netero just wanted to go all out against someone. But he also had a job to not let Mereum escape. So his plan was to fight to the end with Mereum and after he loses just activate the nuke to do his job. If they wanted to they could have just nuked mereum from the start without a fight.

>gon bro u dont need any fancy techniques u are an enhancer like me
>has one of the most grand special techniques ever showcased in the series
what did he mean by this

He had a mission to take out the ants, but he wanted to have fun first. That’s why he goads Meruem out of diplomacy with the offer to hear his name if he wins.

Once Netero had lost two limbs and exhausted all his techniques to only moderately injure Meruem, he reveals the name, basically surrendering, but still uses the bomb to fulfil his original mission.

Because in the battle for survival any weapon is fair game.

He only got there after heinous levels of traditional enhancer training though no?

Hey it works.

>barges into a Goku vs Superman argument between kids to say a nuclear bomb kills them both & humanity fucking sucks

>strongest in the word
>doesn't even use an enhancer tecnique despite being one
Togashit

Supes has canonically tanked a nuke though. Goku tanked a planet destroying attack so I think he'd be fine.

You do realize that Netero admitted defeat by telling Meruem his name right?

He only used the nuke because it was his job to kill the ant-king at all cost.

People have to differentiate between Netero as a "combatant", and Netero as the chairman of the Hunter Association.

>canonically
That depends which Superman we're talking about
The one from Miller's Dark Knight Returns absolutely ate that shit, even if it weakened him
The one in recent comics used gamma rays as his power, so hard to believe he'd be more than annoyed
The Silver Age one would likely eat the fucking thing and burp a small mushroom cloud

In Superman/Wonder Woman he and Wonder Woman literally tank a nuke. New 52 is currently canon. We'll see in a few months

Why was the nuke not powered by Nen? It fundamentally undermined the whole series.

Silver Age Superman was basically JoJo tier bullshit.

Why?

Well maybe it was.
I wouldn't be surprised if tere was a transmuter or something out there who gets paid for helping mass-produce nukes.
In the world of HxH, talented nen-users probably often get hired specifically for their powers.

Why not just use a plane to nuke the fucking palace all along, why send a fucking suicide squad when u know a nuke or two can do the job and get rid of the problem in a second.

>isn't that cheating?
Yes. Which is why he did it after acknowledging that Meruem was the strongest. He still had a job to do as a Hunter.

Because Pitou could see a plane from miles away, giving the king more than enough time to react.

Because it shows how nen is shit compared to conventional weapons.
It takes high nen powers to beat a gun and a the highest are pitiful compared to the shittiest nuke

Which also undermines the villains who are absolute shit in the grand scheme of things

>why doesn't every character just carry around a pocket nuke they are clearly better weapons than magic
this is your typical average shonenshitter

Technically, if a plane is flying at low altitude, it can only be seen at around 8-12 miles away depending on elevation.
Either way, it's better to just send a missile or a radio controlled car with the nuke.

The nuke was not even great. It's so shitty any terror group can make one

What? the nuke will kill everyone in range including the user, it's a suicide move.

You missed the point
From here onwards, the villains look absolute shit.
They were never that big of a threat when you could just send toy cars with nuke or whatever

Nens are just a fancy martial useless for actual large scale conflicts

>what did he mean by this
Togashi hadn't actually planned the series past the Hunter Exam while he was writing it. Same reason Killua doesn't know what nen is despite recognizing his grandfather's hatsu

Meruem vs Gon? who wins

he NEVER said this.

>just use a nuke against any moderate threat what could go wrong haha magic btfo
ok america calm down

Obligatory.

Attached: b1f.png (600x844, 929.79K)

They didn't want to kill all of the civilians

Gon for as long as he can maintain his cheat mode but I don't think he would have been able to actually kill Meruem in in that short amount of time.

Nah this is just your shonenshitter brain that cant wrap itself around basic power perspective.

>Nens are just a fancy martial useless for actual large scale conflic
thats the point

Well, yeah.
The only problem that the military has is to make a more precise form of weaponry like, say. railguns and lasers

Remember, we're talking about supernatural super-ants here, threatening human extinction.
If there's a chance that your rigged car or missile gets discovered or shot down before it can eliminate the king with almost 100% certainty, then maybe that chance is not good enough.
Why not send the most capable man you know to get as close to the king as possible?

That too.

Nah, just send multiple car bombs at multiple angles at multiple waves

>threatening human extinction.
laughable.

At what point in the story before or after chimera ant arc would a nuke have been suitable?
Just nuke Yorknew to get rid of the phantom troupe threat. Just nuke the greed island bomber cus that'll remove the threat of his nen. Fuck it nuke the boat.
It's like saying a nuke would fuck up a James bond villain so the villain isn't intimidating.

It depends what kind of plane, this isnt 1945s techonology, if its anything like modern day technology none of the royal guards will see it coming and even if somehow they can detect a plane HxHs world seems to have almost modern day technology or early 2000s technology meaning most countries probably have ICBMs and SLBMs and no and will ever see that shit coming. The ants were never a threat realistically.

This was honestly incredible. He transceded Nen categories to an extent.

Most HxH arcs aren't at a large enough scale where a nuclear bomb is justified. It would be excessive and morally incorrect.
The exception is the CA arc, but in that case they wanted to avoid political conflict and civilian death, so they sent members of the Hunter Association. They also underestimated the threat.

Yup.
The villains can never be on a level of grand threat when a dirty bomb can take down the most powerful nen user.

Point is, it really undermined the entire point of nen.

Remember all the bs they went through to get the hunter license and be skilled at nen? Turns out you could just buy a gun and bombs and a powersuit if you can

And no ant will ever see that shit coming*

Phonefag

I don't see the problem with that though. Nen does not have to be the only viable weapon. The stakes don't have to be impossibly huge. That's part of what makes the show unique.

Jesus fucking christ you fags so dense it is painful to read the bullshit you spew out of your diseased brains.

No it didn't.
It explained that even superpowered individuals can be destroyed but the basic laws of physics, it was crucial. Also set up a possible dark continent arc's mood, i.e. nature will still fuck you up even if you're the strongest fighter.
