Its fun to read sometimes.
i liked the good series
It very clearly has a formula, but the formula works sometimes and it's good for a decent if generic shounen read.
Clearly gone down hill.
I dropped both Naruto and Bleach in like 2007 but I still read OP. It's the only thing I've read from WSJ in recent memory. I also liked Rurouni Kenshin and YYH and read HXH whenever a new chapter comes out. I don't bother keeping up with new series in it or anything though outside of the constant threads about every series in it on Zig Forums.
It's hard to argue with their results but I feel like they're doing something wrong and a lot of their manga end up unoriginal or throw away's.
Mind Assassin didn't deserve to get axed.
Even though I don't like 90% of the manga in the magazine I do appreciate the consistency of the weekly release schedule for the series I do follow.
I kind of like Shonen, but I particularly like Shonen with the fewest Shonen elements.
Death Note and early Bleach were good because of this.
Only other Shonen I care for is Naruto just because I grew up with it.
Bow before the king of shonen jump
The editors need to let the original mangaka’s do their story the way they want and have little influence.
The story’s are okay-ish.
SJ is not classic literature and don't pretend to be anything but summer movie mindless fun. I'm 50 and I've been reading comics since the 1970s. Mindless fun is perfectly okay for escapism. I try to make a little bit of time every day to read something that I've never read before. I'm getting my $1.99 a month's worth and I really can't complain. If I don't like an opening chapter I just move on to something else. When I'm done reading the stuff I've never read before, it's still worth $1.99 for the handful of new series that I really like.
I started following more series now that they went digital. There's so much stuff from them that I enjoyed a lot but even more that I don't like or don't care about.
Who?
>The editors need to let the original mangaka’s do their story the way they want
Yeah, they should bring back Kishimoto and let him do a series the way he wants, with minimal editor input. It would be a guaranteed worldwide hit.
It's fun and makes f/a/ggots seethe.
No, it would make the potato feel awkward
If you're over 30 you don't belong here.
Being 50 I hope that you read other manga besides the stuff in WSJ.
If you're under 30 you don't belong here.
It's just a solid magazine. There's goods reason why it's the most successful with the widest appeal, that's all.

Shameless whores.
They have some good series
It's too restrictive now, too much competition with works at risk of cancellation with just the first volume. Also, it eclipsed the manga industry too much so series published outside Jump hardly get any recognition.
Really, why don't you like the bad series?
Keep giving me entertainment and I won't complain.
they suck
Consistent, professional releases, nostalgia fulfillment, axebowl sports betting, easy access to the progress of mangakas' careers. almost guaranteed anime if it lives two years, no scanlator drama, what's not to love?
