Its cute

He and Hole are in the top but no where near as BASED as Gyoza boy.

This
The cast is great, both boys and girls, and Chidaruma is a dick throughout the whole series, but goddamn if he's not best boy

Even the author knows it that's why He's the MC of Dai Dark

A good series but it went on too long. The ending feels like a total mess.

Good but kind of dumb. It's got the aesthetic sensibilities of high art but it doesn't seem to have much of anything to say, at least not anything trite. Too much
>But if you die who will I eat gyoza with!
Which makes it seem like it doesn't have the intellectual chops to back up the really interesting stuff like the ultraviolence and the fact that Satan wears a hoodie.

>the aesthetic sensibilities of high art
>it doesn't have the intellectual chops to back up the really interesting stuff
I dropped Dorohedoro but you suond pretentious as fuck.

How did I not see something so obvious before.

super filteted

>I dropped Dorohedoro
Why

it's enjoyable. great characters, unique art, cool setting

Pretentious is a word brainlets use when adults having conversations makes them feel uncomfortable

Based

A bit edgy, the anime isn't good

cringe pseud.

One of my favorite series imo.
Also a great cast if you like tomboy gfs and buff dudes.

"It's fun"

Give me one reason why edge is a bad thing. Not everything has to be flowers and rainbows

Please, explain exactly how what I said was pseudointellectual. What point did I miss, or what am I pretending to know?
Or is pseud just what you call someone who says something you don't immediately understand and agree with?

Title means Door-to-door

I don't even think Dorohedoro is edgy, all the violence is taken for granted and none of the characters ever really treat it as important . It's not dark, it's just violent

didnt he get that because he lost the bet in the end?

nah sorry, pretentious is a word adults use to describe stupid acts that want to appear as smart and important

What is high art to you?

>Good but kind of dumb. It's got the aesthetic sensibilities of high art but it doesn't seem to have much of anything to say, at least not anything trite. Too much
But if you die who will I eat gyoza with!

I think you might be placing emphasis on 'deep lore' and 'social commentory' and 'grim dark' when you describe the show as dumb for being light hearted - which honestly is kind of such a chuuni mentality to have. Dorohedoro is a black comedy and does a fantastic job of juxtaposing hyper violence with an off putting warmth and kindness between characters, and as a result is very charming and funny.

Seethe
Art that either uses metaphors and elements of symbolism with enough precision and in novel enough ways that it contributes greatly to human culture, or art that so exactly displays the reality of a person or thing that it contributes greatly to human culture.
The problem isn't that it's light-hearted, the problem is that statements like that are so trite and clichéd that they're completely empty. Lizard man GAMBATEing because he doesn't want blonde girl to go away isn't any more sophisticated than Pikachu's tears bringing Ash back to life at the end of the Pokémon movie. It's played out, and therefore doesn't fit the definition of high art I put in up above. Even the framework of "humans are ants preyed on by a stronger species" is playing with shades of dystopia that are very familiar to anime.

it's mediocre

I don't think the author was attempting to have a sophisticated view point on the human condition, and was more aiming for a comedy with likable characters and an imaginitive fictional world that has campy and gorey violence. I do agree with you that the art is amazing, but I think the cheesey tropes being used are intentional. I kinda see how that would put some people off regardless of the mangakas intent. My b for flaming you with the pseud talk, I think just reading the term 'high art' triggers me, but I think I understand you wanting more in terms of character development/story/sophistication.
