It's absurd and that's fun.

The start is overtly edgy on purpose to misdirect the audience, it ties back to the themes of the manga and is only apparent later on. But yeah, the edge stops somewhere near the start. it's basically trying to appear to be a grimdark revenge story.

Fire punch was something else and this is coming from a guy who read the best manga out there (Berserk, Vagabond and Slam Dunk). It is the first time I felt empty after finishing a series.
Let me tell you, I reread each chapter 3 times, memorizing it, and at the end of each arc I write short essays (3 pages or so) summarizing the plot points, character motivations, and theorize about what future actions may take place. So about two or three days per arc depending on the arc length.
