Comic relief character
Is there any chance the villains make it out of this or have they lost?
>Dynamite
>Not "Dynamight"
Way to drop the ball yet again, Viz
Horikoshi's assistant posted a doodle of Bakugo captioned "Dynamite" an hour ago, so it's the real intended name.
they're called League of Jobbers for a reason user.
Still has more soul than the rest of the cast
Toga's going to disguise herself as a nurse, sneak into Deku's ambulance, and rape him, so she will win at least.
He ded bros...
They're just being honest this time. If the phrase could be read as Dynamite or Dynamight and no difference is even phoenetically possible to indicate, why would you assume extra meaning that you WANT to attach to it rather than what's just plainly there?
Still better than Ground Zero.
Only because it makes all of the fanarts with that name completely worthless
We're in a situation where Dynamite and Dynamight are both correct in Japanese but only one can be correct in English.
How do I upvote a Zig Forums post? This is so epic
Sure in the sense that every permutation of an English word's syllables spelled however way you want are correct to Japanese as long as the sounds are correct, but with no indication that the intent is a misspelling for a pun (and there isn't, there's only indication contrary), it's inserting headcanon to treat as equal to the ordinary word that's being conveyed.
I never liked the name, and I also don't know why people are saying Hori changed his mind because of the Maruta incident because that's totally untrue. It was always just a scrapped idea he revealed for fun and he wouldn't have told it to us if he intended to use it.
So the translators fucked up and it should have been dynamight?
He also tweeted “yes” right after what does it mean? Is he confirming it’s dynamite?
The moment the anime does another canon character page is when the Dynamite/Dynamight confusion will end.
You say this while knowing how obsessed Horikoshi and Bakugo are with puns and nicknames. Also Japanese fans acknowledge the pun too. It's extremely obvious.
Man I can feel Jeanist's seething through the panel.
It really isn't....
All Might and Awl Mite are the same to a Japanese reader but one is still the correct one when the Japanese text is trying to spell out a meaningful English word or phrase. You don't say "Awl Mite is equally valid", you ask if there's something clearly saying that over the more obvious meaning. In this instance we even have showing the contrary.
Ok cute fan art time
Dynamight is too on the nose, and is obviously riding the tailcoats of All Might's legacy. Dynamite is more subtle of a nod to Bakugo's childhood hero, and let's him stand on his own identity.

KEK I wrote both of these posts.
Maybe I'm not expressing myself well to be understood. We all know that Dynamite is the only true name now, but there is an obviously implied pun in the name, one so obvious that Japanese manga readers have been pointing it out all day. It's not possible to translate that exact nuance over to English unfortunately, but it's willfully obtuse to act like there's zero reason to see the similarity.
Exactly this.
The great hero GERM.
I think the anime just takes the English names from the US release, anyway.
Why was all might such a cunt and not give ofa to Endeavor? If Endeavor had ofa he would have fixed all the problems in the manga. Imagine afo getting melted with ofa powered hellflame. Would also fix his anger because he’d know he was the true number one hero since he’s natural born unlike all might, which could lead him to reconciling with his family without external help from Deku.
still not as bad as a "Lida" or a "Deku" lol
Because it wouldn't have solved the problem of ensuring the next generation.
Well we know Iida will take Re-ingenium and surprisingly Deku is the only student who already gets called by his hero name.
Search "マイト" & "ダイナマイト" together on twitter if you want to see.
I want to die
Sure it would have. Once Endeavor solves all the problems like finally finishing off afo, Shiggy, lov, mla etc he could then pass it on to Shoto or someone and train them slowly but surely(cause of no imminent danger) and he’s also a better teacher than all might.
>the only student who already gets called by his hero name.
Does this count?
I think they meant in daily life.
He take on the name Endeavor after his father resigns from professional heroism.
Endeavor would die with OFA. I don't mean he'd kill himself, I mean he would literally not pass it on. He basically had a derangement in his need for power, it's pathological so when a time came where it would be necessary or a good time to relinquish it, I don't believe he could. Not the old Endeavor we're talking about at least. Whether it's on the battlefield, a sniper shot, or on his deathbed, THAT Endeavor wouldn't grow up enough to hand it off. He has no impetus to grow and remains a petty and powerhungry dude, probably becomes enamored of the idea that he'll never be surpassed after he reached that power.
I miss Mt Lady. I hope she's ok. She has a boyfriend waiting for her.
He's being called by his already-permanent nickname though. It was cemented this way long before it was ever his hero name. So the hero name part is actually a bit irrelevant for his specific case.
Don't know. He's more of a momma's boy so he might take up something that refers to her.
Nah, he’d pass it on to Shouto wether Shoto would have wanted it or not. He’s fine with having his children surpass him.
Sucks that Kamui Woods can never explore the possibility of doing it with Mt. Lady while she's in giant mode. How would they even do it in private? Will he use his branches and stuff to pleasure her?
His dad would tell him that's a foolish idea and not to do it. There's an extent to which taking on your father's burden actually makes the people you save feel less at ease, and this is it. He has to think of them, not just redeeming a name because he wants to for his dad's sake.
>Endeavor: Just watch me
>Hawks: Ive always been watching
>Shoto: Father, Im watching you
>Dabi: I had plenty of reason to keep watching you
>Deku: Im watching Endeavor
