Manga or anime, which should I pick?
This always happens with shounen
>first season or so has great quality, catapulting the manga into peak popularity
>publisher either gets complacent and thinks anything will sell, or feels the manga won't generate money anymore and pulls out investment
>phoned in korean final season
This picture is what stopped me from starting the anime. There is no exscuse for these levels of QUALITY appearing in a popular series like that.

Watch the anime. The first season is very well made and hype, and has a good self contained story about a gang of misfits leading a rebellion against a corrupt round table, allegedly fallen to demonic magic. Lots of memorable characters with a satisfying ending. Every character, even the villains of the week and random sidecharacters, continually appear after their introductions and are fully fleshed out by the ending. The girls are cute. Pretty good anime.
If you're blown away by it, S2 is produced just as well, but adapts the start of the long and almost unrelated second half with not much payoff seasons later. S2 is a "battle the demon kings" season with most of them featured, has some good fights and twists, but it's stellar. Deen's S3 is extremely poorly paced and hard to watch. The source material really jumped the shark too, focusing on the power struggle for the demon throne, ancient conflicts between deities, curses and other nonsense drama, but you might as well read it over watching S3 if you're still interested. S4 isn't out yet but adapts the bossrush of bland villains leading to the second half's heavily criticized ending, also Deen.
I'd watch Part 1 in full (S1) and stop. Part 2 isn't worth it, even with the pretty S2 starting it off.
*isn't stellar
S2 fights suck, honestly. Too much powerlevel bullshit. The characters are more flat and everything gets angsty by the end of it too. S1 was actually fun.
Shitpost all you want, retard. It’s an objective fact.
What this guy said, mostly, though S1 also suffers from really weird powerlevels.
That awkward vagina gets me every time
Making protagonist be a midget, and mascot character be some annoying pig. The series was doomed from the start.
I dropped it early on when thay stupid fucking pig started shouting out power levels. Then every fight was "bad guy has bigger number" "wait...why is good guy number increasing?" Than a one sided beatdown.
Yeah, the power level shit was so fucking unneeded.
I would just read the manga. If you're more into anime then wait until the final season airs, from January to sometime in summer. If it's good or at least decent then you can watch the anime. If not then you should either read the manga or watch the first 2 seasons and then read the manga for the rest.
Begins serialization in late January.
Yeah, that moment was when I knew the series has fucked up.
There's never a case where this statement isn't true. Power levels are shit

Kohta Yamamoto
DEEN outsourcing Marvy Jack
That was right when the second arc/season started and Melodias couldn't scratch that red knight. No attempt to outsmart him or use some new technique get get the upper hand. Gotta retrace my memories for 20 chapters to unlock hidden powerlevel multipliers and just punch him.
Worst part was how big the difference in their power level was. Melodias was 3K or so, and the knight was fucking 25K.
