City in the middle of a plain

>city in the middle of a plain
>trees higher than city walls right next to them
>one river to provide water
So how many days will they surrender if you siege this isekai city, cut off their water supply, and fire magic/projectiles from the trees?

>cut off their water supply
That would be useless when it comes to that particular city.

this is the future you chose, faggots.

That's a pizza, m8.

We had enough bait threads lately.

1. That's normal.
2. You generally have weeks, sometimes months, of notice when a city-sized army starts marching your way, that's plenty of time to cull the forest for defense. Ancient cities have been known to divert entire waterways ahead of a siege to make the grounds unsuitable for enemy weapons.
3. That's normal. Sieges almost always cut off supply lines, and, again, you have several weeks to hoard resources anyways.

>“I have already turned to foam the many plans you have. That’s why I won’t ask much.” (Alte)
>“That’s some special head you got there.” (Makoto)
How did Barrette manage to imagine so much misinformation about Makoto after spying on him for so long?

>You generally have weeks, sometimes months, of notice when a city-sized army starts marching your way
It is isekai, the invading army can use Gate or Concealment.

>What is dimensional lock?
>What is true vision?

>the invading army can use Gate
This is the point where you should recognize that you need to completely reinvent warfare.
Why don't they gate INTO the town?
Why don't the inhabitants just gate their town somewhere else?

>That Sofia body
And Makoto didn't even look at her or try to take her after she was turned good by Root. Tomoe really had a point when she wondered if he was gay.

>dimensional lock
>true vision
They are definitely part of the town's defense system. The problem is that you likely can't extend those spells' area of effect too far from your town, so the enemy can use gate or concealment to quietly march near the town, like a few kilometers or so before being detected, which will leave you less than a day to prepare for the attack.

not soon enough

We shouldn't make the mistake of confusing classic times to be the gold standard for what would happen in a war.
They had circumstances that were neither true in the middle ages nor in the renaissance nor with modern states. And isekai has magic on top of that.

Even if he would have been fine taking her too at that point, Makoto wouldn't like Root watching through Sofia. I don't think he ever will now, but completely freeing her and then denying Root the chance to watch would be a good idea.

who is this. and what anime are they from?

It looks like she takes a liking to him now, maybe not just because Root messed with her head, but part of it is her true feeling too after being defeated by him in a fair and square battle.
The problem is that if he really takes her as a concubine, it will look like those doujin where the faceless ugly teacher takes the sisterly figure girl who his student admires and forces him to watch.

I think if anyone takes Sofia it will be Jin who knew her in the past. Makoto already lost a good chance to take a girl from one of his students, and even if she's had a memory wipe the author is probably more likely to get those Jin together with her eventually. Maybe some concubines will happen after some pregnancies where Tomoe will decide it's time for the next part of her plan, because Makoto isn't likely to do it on his own, if there are any relevant girls left by that point.

The main points still stand for medieval warfare. And as for the magical element: it might as well be anything goes. The attackers aren't the only ones who can pull magical bullshit out of their asses.

Nobody fucking cares lmao. Also
>Complaining about water supply when this retarded girl can generate tsunamis with her hands that heal wounds and cure ailments and eradicate demons and undead

Luckily the defending army and its allies also have access to these things. Alternatively, the sheer difference in the magical equivalent of military technology alone gives the attackers such a huge advantage that anything the defending army could do wouldn't really matter anymore.

>Makoto already lost a good chance to take a girl from one of his students
Iroha was never within his range of interest to begin with. He likes the onee-san type, i.e young women who are a bit older than him, that's why Tomoe and Mio took such forms. Sofia is right in his strike zone and also too much for Jin to handle anyway.

the walls are for unintelligent monsters not militaries

>Who is this
You're joking, right?

>The main points still stand for medieval warfare.
Not really.
The situation is more confused because there is less centralization.
Armies are smaller and not quite as visible (until the late middle ages). But more importantly, it's often not exactly clear who exactly they are allied with and who they are fighting against. They have good reason to hide this because if they can reach the town when it's still unprepared, they have an easier time taking it.
There are almost no big cities but more smallish towns, so there are many potential targets.

The attackers can significantly shorten the defenders' preparation period by teleporting to near the city and then march there conventional way in one or two days. The defenders can only put up magic barriers near their city, not 1000 miles from the walls.

It's a meme

Magic teleport that can teleport an entire army it's pretty high level, only see that in the mc side or in gate

Shut up Aqua, in a siege they will obviously send assassins to take you out first.

Sofia did end up younger after her reset, so she may be out of it his preferred range now. If Tomoe's and Mio's forms were based on that preference, it doesn't explain the change in Tamaki. Even if Makoto is honest and Iroha was out of his range now, she is getting older. A concubine doesn't have to be his ideal either, and her good luck would have been nice to pair with his bad luck. Sofia going with Makoto eventually may be better, I just don't expect the author to do it when he's pairing all of Makoto's students with someone.

Aqua has plot armor so they are doomed

Then what is for militaries?

a city is a big town btw

Who is gonna besiege an isekai city? The mobs are too disorganized.

Isekai is a mindless genre for mindless people

Magic bags can more than double the speed at which an army can move, and they can make it harder to spot preparations for mobilization too.

Don't you just need to open a gate and the army will march in to the target location? Like in Overlord and Maoyuu?

ah, you described the national cumfest called 'Gate'

constantly stationed militaries
lot of these generic towns are probably not even on the border

>Aqua floods the city because she's a fucking retard
Well uh, thanks for speeding up the siege I guess.

Not every city round enough.

I guess, but the cost to keep the gate open and the transfer cost too.idk this kinda of shit is too op for any setting

>that little side area that's walled off from the rest of the city
But why

imagine building a dam and causing it to flood the city

>Sofia did end up younger after her reset, so she may be out of it his preferred range now.
She is still older than him.
>If Tomoe's and Mio's forms were based on that preference, it doesn't explain the change in Tamaki.
It does, in fact. Because Makoto didn't trust Touda so he changed her from his preferred form to a loli one, so that he wouldn't be sexually attracted by her.
>Even if Makoto is honest and Iroha was out of his range now, she is getting older
Yes, but Makoto will get older too at the same time, she will never become older than him.
>A concubine doesn't have to be his ideal either
He is basically a god king now, why does he want concubines that aren't his ideal type?
>I just don't expect the author to do it when he's pairing all of Makoto's students with someone.
He can get someone else, like one of the forest ogres.

Who lives there? Flatlanders?

the adventurer's guild is often portrayed as the strongest military force around and sometimes enforce neutrality. their presence in a city is an implicit deterrent for kingdoms not wanting to get on their bad side.

Cattle farmers most like.

Plenty of trees to build siege towers and what not. why cut off the water supply when you can pollute it with dead bodies (human and animal)?
