Now that season 3 is confirmed, I must say, even after all this time I still don't know if the show's episodes were serialized or not, or were more self contained stories. Only the last few episodes managed to have some consistency.

the extreme amount of death and warfare on the planet accumulated into one entity that's basically the centerpoint between the living and the dead. you don't necessarily go there when you die, but the planet reached out to Dandy because of his high level of pyonium. The planet already attracts wandering souls, and Dandy has pretty much infinite "wandering" potential

The only episode I consider bad is the one with Honey's brother. Terribly unfunny, not conceptually interesting. Laika's episode is only remembered for its first half even though its second half is awful. Undies vs Vest has a few chuckle worthy lines and an incredible ending sequence that saves it. I think the musical one barely escapes C tier because it is pretty cute in the end.
Everybody knows A World With No Sadness is ascended kino. Your inner contrarian might want to find some reason to not consider it one of the best individual episodes of a tv anime made in the last 20 years, since it's overwhelming in its obvious attempts to strive to those heights. You cannot stop it though, you know in your heart it's on another level.

It's half speculation, but as the only living thing surrounded by the wandering souls of the dead for thousands of years, sacrificing itself to bring Dandy back to life is probably the ideal way to die. Limbo was lonely and sad offering only a brief respite for the dead, so finally being able to rest and in doing so bring just one soul back to life is exactly what it/she wanted. Of course this is only in that dimension, and when Dandy eventually dies in the other dimension he's brought to that dimension's Limbo, which hadn't died.

Yeah lmao, I put it in S tier for a reason it was perfect. It felt very much like an ascended dandy episode, probably the most serious in tone and really gets you thinking. That being said, I still prefer, "I can't be the only one baby" over it just because it made me laugh the most. But s2 e8, is arguably the "best" episode in terms of scope. How was I being contrarian lmao?
