or

both

well their actions dictate their circumstances dont yuo think? id say actions > circumstance

circumstances and the elites systematically keeping the poor down.

Initially circumstance. You cant choose where youre born. Id say anyone below 14 is poor because of circumstances. After 20 there is no excuse, you are poor because you want to be poor.

t. fat dadless loser inculcated by moms mental weakness

Rich get richer and have more opportunities. You realize all the neets here can be neets because their parents have money? That's the only reason they can even get on shit like link to begin with.

Spotted the rich white teenager. Its a cycle, the circumstances growing up will lead them to poor decisions down the road. Their poor decisions only amplify their shitty circumstances after that.

Literally nature vs nurture. Answer is both.

You are born poor to poor wagecucked parents no saving account for gou and you have to work shitty retail jobs in your teens to help your parents pay rent.

Then you go to college or you don't either way youre fucked you cant get a good job easily without a degree or you have to get a ton of debt.

Its really hard to get out but its possible the man is trying to tax you right back into being poor tho.

neither, it's all genetics.

>its whiteppls fault my momma had an 85 iq
kys ugly shitskin

So free will and personal responsibility are just myths for the untermensch? Only the chosen ones like you can make your own decisions?

Stupid white people for the most part are surrounded by people who are probably smarter than them. Stupid black people are surrounded by other equally stupid black people so it's a vicious feedback loop.

poor because of circumstances first, poor because own actions later.

Lol wtf is that data bro get with the times

if you grow up in the ghetto in baltimore your chances of escaping are almost 0. If you grow up in a white ghetto in the appalachian mountains your chances of escaping are almost 0.
If you grow up in a rich suburban family your chances of making it are extremely high. Its not rocket science polcel.

I'd say because of their own actions.
I'm from a third world shithole and didn't even have a proper bed to sleep on until 16.
I've been able to study and work and got myself a scholarship into a CS university.
Even then I didn't stick to traditional 9-5 jobs and seeked something more and started learning solidity.
Never had to work for a day in my life after that.

You sound like you're a sophomore in college and you probably thought your comment was deep

I'll tell all the dudes who made it out that they have to go back so that your professor doesn't have to admit to being wrong and you don't have to stop wearing your che tshirt.

In UK poverty is definitely managed to some extent. If you have more than £4k (I think) in cash or assets you lose your unemployment benefits.
It keeps the underclass in a perpetual state of needless consumerism and debt. My gfs mother has been in hospital for a few months and her benefits have stacked up, we have to go to her bank this week and lift the money out so her unemployment doesn’t get cut off.

I understand the need for a cap to prevent abuses, but £4k isn’t enough to move yourself out of poverty. People get caught in a circumstantial feedback loop as a result.

A mixture of both - but primarily you need to have a strong start in life. Your success is primarily determined at a young age - I'd say you have maybe the first 30 years to get rich otherwise you are pretty much fucked unless you exploit others or steal.

The goal is not to get you out of poverty. The goal is to provide you the cash to support yourself enough to get a job that will pay you more.

So when is your bottom surgery?

the single mother ghettos should just be nuked to the ground.

It's almost entirely luck. The people who have money don't like to admit that.

Nothing in this world is black and white, and there's never "one thing" you can do differently to be successful. Maybe its because I played lots of mmo's growing up, but ever since I started looking at real life like an rpg, my life improved dramatically.

How do you get good at an mmo or rpg quickly? Its not the one big upgrade that separates the good from the bad, its the fact that good players will stack up tiny "insignificant" 1% upgrades, where shitters don't even bother. Sure, 1% doesn't mean much, but if you find 15 things you can improve by 1%, thats a monumental difference between you and someone who doesn't.

Stop focusing on the big upgrades, like if you were born rich, or if you got better grades in highschool and got a fullride scholarship (the video equivalent of "oh I wish I got that drop from that boss a month ago, I would be so good right now if I did"), and start focusing on the little 1%, manageable improvements. Stuff like putting away a small amount of your paychecks, buying cheaper food, cutting out small unnecessary things you waste money on, trying to get $100 of residual income each month (and then another $100, and another $100). I guarantee you'll thank me later.

Your own actions can lead to success only when they are put into effect in the right place at the right time. Which means circumstances.
Not being ugly plays a big role as well. Show me a successful person that is outright ugly. Again circumstances.

>Are people poor because of their own actions, or because of their circumstances?
Actions mostly. The poor stay poor because they make stupid decisions over and over again.
>yassssss, got tax return monies
>lol lets get 2lbs of weed and smoke it all
>wtf I can't pay rent this month

It's not difficult, you basically just have to avoid making terrible decisions. Some people for some reason can't do that.

I personally know people that grew up with one parent in a town with no running water or electricity that now earn six figures a year. They also have lolweed siblings that live on welfare. The difference was they chose not to indulge in stuff that was only going to make them feel better for a minute.

the problem with retarded thinking like this guy is that it's easy to call people's questionable life choices dumb, but at the same time, their consumer habits likely fuel some component of the economy that some other "successful" boomer depends on. It also ignores the whole purpose of science in blanketing over broken behavior with empty words. Doesn't demonstrate any understanding of what is actually happening.
