I actually like yu yu hakusho and naruto in dub more because the characters have way more distinguishable voices than just generic jap voice acting that sounds the same in every anime. (granted, it almost always sounds good). Likewise, that's actually why I think most dubs are pretty bad because they all have the same shitty funimation voice actors that really aren't even good at acting in the first place. The only time I'm 100% against dubs is for live action movies because those are more tame in dialogue and are almost impossible to replicate the exact emotion the writers were going for. For anime dubs, it's not hard to replicate a screaming idiot falling on the floor after some unfunny joke.

I can understand japanese.
I learned japanese because I wanted to watch anime and read manga that weren't translated.
Then i lived in japan for ten years.
Your average subtitled anime is passable at best. There's nuance and context that have to be ignored when you translate it into another language, simply because there are concepts, expressions, and even words that don't have an english analogue, so you have to "make do" with what you have.
That's honestly what I can't stand about you tertiaries:
You don't know the country or the culture
You don't bother learning the language
You only care about SUBS WHEN and TRANSLATIONS WHEN because you're just fucking consumers.
Then you go on some fucking mongolian frog-fondling forum and go like "I AM SUPR SPESHUL CUZ I WATCH MY ANNY-MAY WITH SUBS AND DUBS SUCK"
You're not actually "super special". You're just a fucking guppy coming up to surface because someone sprinkled a little product on the surface. Someone else translated it for you. Someone else made the judgement to use one word or phrase over another. You just downloaded/ streamed their work.
That's the depth of your involvement- consumption.

In my opinion you don't really belong here, nor are you a true anime fan, unless you make a point of trying to understand the original language. If you can learn Mexican in grade school, you can attempt to learn Japanese, shonenspics.
