WSJ has a lot of female readers, so there is probably a sizable fanbase. It's just not number one on their list.

The ranking for women is kind of weird. Who is voting for these and why are they always only shoujo or josei? Some of those manga don't seem that popular compared to other shonen or seinen that have huge female fanbases. There is also no overlap, that can't be true either. Something like Blue Lock which is recent and hugely popular would have definitely shown up at some point for example.
Are these ranking seperated by demographics? As in manga for men can only be shonen, seinen and manga for women only shoujo, josei?

The actual reveal of the winners is supposed to happen on thursday so that can only be that.

How new?
Manga for male only would contain works directed for shonen and seinen while female only would contain shoujo and josei. How hard to grasp could that be? Also these are only from surveying people that "work" in the manga industry.
