Dragging a manga is a horrible mainstream manga habit. Dragon Ball, Inu Yasha, Bleach, Nanatsu no Taizai and Death Note are works that would be much better if they had finished earlier.
So I understand who fears for the fate of the new series.
BUT it seems that this fear is making people now applaud everything that ends with 20 or less volumes..... just because it ended with 20 or less volumes.
Demon Slayer's last arcs were filled with easy solutions. Chainsaw Man is rushing things. And all I see are comments like: > You need to respect the author for ending soon.
What we really need is to stop this bullshit.
Like another user said a few days ago, "ending something abruptly and unsatisfactory is just as bad as dragging something out".
i agree, op. i can't believe chainsaw man only has one chapter left. it's been super rushed for over 20 chapters
Ethan Martin
I dont think that kny or csm endings were atrocious but you have a point People in Zig Forums applaud short manga saying "oh good thing it didn't drag" but a short manga can also be shit so idk why its automatically seen as a good thing

Kimetsu is dogshit

>Demon Slayer's last arcs were filled with easy solutions. Chainsaw Man is rushing things Chainsaw man is rushed that is true, but for Demon Slayer is different because it's the usual battle shonen and when people say they like that it ended sooner they mean that they already know how battle shonen, especially one with this premise, is so going fast over shonen tropes you already saw 10000 times was refreshing for some, of course there are some issues here and there but it's still a complete solid story. Chanisaw man on the other hand would benefit from some more chapters.

>What we really need is to stop this bullshit. Uh, no we don’t. If author wants it to end, then let them. I mean, what the fuck is anyone going to do if the author does or doesn’t end their series? Literally nothing happens. Honestly, you really should stop taking the amount of volumes as an indicator of anything,
Besides, who really cares about an ending to an art film in manga form. Art films rarely ever have a plot or a sensible ending, so what’s the point? Deep down, you know CSM is an art film in its core with no ending in mind,

>Death Note I disagree the anime ending was perfect
Juan James
Series get shitter with time Less chapters = less chances to fuck shit up Dragging things and upping the scale each time is trite and boring. Tanjiro never surpassed Yoriichi and that's fine.
Henry Harris
>just because it ended with 20 or less volumes. Most of the time it's fagboys coping with their favourite manga getting axed, other times it's just fagboys being fagboys.
Gabriel Gonzalez
I respect and appreciate your opinion on the matter. I feel like authors should have the creative freedom of progressing and ending their stories however and whenever they want. With no fear and pressure coming from others... but I also know that not everyone can do that. All these endless manga and anime series provide financial stability to their creators, teams etc. Also some are so scared that they might not be able to replicate their success with a new manga.
Leo Myers
Dragonball ended at the perfect time, and frankly still had plenty of steam which is why GT existed in the first place. Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece on the other hand always felt like things were dragging out and never recovered.
James Phillips
Both are meh. One is for fujos the other for edgelords.
Ryan Mitchell
I feel like One Piece had a decent pacing until the NW, now every arc drags on and on.
Daniel Sanders
kny did it fine, idk how I feel about CSM yet
Matthew Hernandez
I hated how part 2 of naruto was only about sasuke and the akatsuki. I liked how part 1 had other villages and enemies involved it felt like the world was larger ironically. The 5 kage summit was a step in the right direction but it took so long to get there, and even then we barely know anything about the other countries besides the sand and cloud village.
Caleb Anderson
>Dragonball ended at the perfect time I feel like only a literal alien could have this point of view. There is no one older than 10 that didn't think Cell was a reboot to redo Frieza again. If he'd kept doing more boss arcs after Buu no one that had sat through three of the same thing would have any room to complain. Which is why Super exists.
Matthew Young
same, the 2nd half is still good, I'd agree it's not better than the 1st half but it's still fucking amazing.
Leo Reyes
ejoy Wan Piss, I guess.
Noah Hernandez
I agree, Zig Forums is for of legitimate retards who can't comprehend nuance. Both kimetsu and csm could have ended 30 chapters later and they would still be short series.
Sebastian Ortiz
>Dragonball ended at the perfect time, and frankly still had plenty of steam which is why GT existed This is bait right?
Lucas Jones
I think a lot of them are just genuinely bad at endings - so they either drag it out, to delay the inevitable, or they slap together an ending in the hopes people will eat it up.
Cameron Parker
Haven't read Kimetsu, but I agree about CSM. I find it both amusing and slightly dumb how some people say now that worldbuilding, plot threads or characters left up in the air aren't important because they're not the MC or are there for "flavour". Hell, the last two or three volumes were so rushed, Denji's development itself ended up all over the place. Also this .
Easton Flores
How would they otherwise make room for new series that are uninspired or plagiarized then, dear user?
> I participated in the Shonen Jump competition with a new idea and original characters. I got tired of them, but I did not get a share and lost in the competition. I said I will work and develop myself and present it again with a better drawing 2020 meet your 3 main characters sculpted in millimeters from Design for hair and eye colors for hairstyles, even clothes, manga, cars, poses, etc., but you must be a Japanese one, to take a serial in Shounen Jump > Salute for me the transparency, and the foreigners are angels descending from the sky. They are not involved in sloppy Arabic work and this theft. I swear by the One God every day and discover that it is wrong that I entered this field.
I honestly think Chainsaw Man is too long. There is a LOT that could be cut out from the story while achieving the same result.
Ryan Thomas
I do agree that Kinetsu felt rushed in certain parts, I would have liked more backstory and interaction between some characters but overall, I think it is a good example of not dragging that shit too long
As a berserk fan, life is suffering
Andrew Perez
People just switch their narratives to whatever makes the manga look the best. Before the ending announcement, you'd be called a retard if you said it'd end in 197, but now saying it's rushed is a divisive statement somehow.
Jackson Ross
I wouldn't cut the fun but pointless stuff from CSM but it's definitely proof the manga didn't have anything it needed to do by being longer. It's weak because you can't do things like nuke your own tone to make burger punch funnier and still expect a generically satisfying ending.
Isaac Brooks
One piece has to drag at this point, theres so many plot points and lore that arent explored that Oda has set up for decades, if the manga ends earlier at this point it would be a bigger shitshow than bleach, narutos are any other mangas ending. This is partly Odas fault for expanding the universe so much and making the NW increasingly about the world and the geopolitics than the small time adventure about the SHs.
Zachary Lopez
>Demon Slayer's last arcs were filled with easy solutions Bruh are you disappointed that there were no "Bigger Bad" or is that Muzan is a member of super vampire league or that the corps would travel to China to defeat the mainland demons? The story ends with the defeat of Muzan and with his defeat everything is restored back to normal, it's simple and straight to the point. It's a vital point that is severely lacking with mainstream shonen's obsession with piling villains on top of villains and power creeps everywhere
Logan Clark
I like demon slayer but he's talking about Tamayo's poison and Shinobu's antidote
OTOH neither of those things required any more chapters to feel less convenient, just needed to be presented better.
