aren't they still at best ww1 era aircraft? i doubt they can carry any meaningful heavy weaponry (iirc they could barely down Zeppelin with incendiary rounds), let alone be precise enough to hit moving targets, even dive bombing ships in the second world war was far from accurate, let alone titans with matrix powers. besides, if they had any meaningful ground attack aircraft, they could've easily taken out the train tracks at Slava(not saying that they couldn't just have used infantry mortars) and saved themselves the trouble of the siege. I'm not sure about how strong rifle caliber fire is against titans in snk is, but it seems like only special weapons are allowed to meaningfully penetrate the nape. but yes in a couple of decades with heavy machine guns, bigger bombs on better handling aircraft, I can see the window for titans slamming shut.

iirc ww2 dive bombers were probably about 20-30% accurate hitting aircraft carriers...given that (shifter) titans are way smaller and are very good at reacting to threats (annie comes to mind here, no way you're getting a bomb close to that kike), and that a triplane is probably not going to be carrying more than a few 25 lb eggs, there's no way in hell a dozen of those stringbags (yes i know it's ironic) are gonna do much to a titan.

CAP was nonexistent, so it was as close to hitting a defenseless target as you could. AA is a thing, but they were caught by surprise and even when alert had abysmal accuracy, I guess you could say they did at least deter aircraft from getting too close, although more of that was actually from the pullout distance. obviously not a fair comparison, but if I did include the previous bombing waves where the japs were able to defend, that success probability would drop near zero.
