Love the opening/ending
The cgi is concerning. Its not too bad but it'll be really disappointing if they use it for still scenes where they need more detail. It seems like it'll be good but not as much as it could've been. Studio changes always gonna suck, but it could've been worse.

it was done well enough. the cg was done well and lets be honest it doesnt make that big of a difference as long as the cg looks like the drawings its fine. that shit from the beserk golden age arc movie 1 was a abomination and the hellsing ultimate waves of soldiers from blood was kind of bad .
i would argue this means japan has a couple of studios who can do the work that netflix is doing. so levius and kengan ashura vs attack on titan season 4 and sss gridman. levius was slightly better quality wise but i think it was a over emphasis on getting the shadows right allowing it so art director probably bitching every one out every other day allowing it to look that good. in both cases for japan they opted to do it with odd characters that are not normal humans so they got some wiggle room but on paper given what they did they could do full cg animation for human characters. no argonvis doesnt count... not unless we get a season 2,3, and 4 which would show some one die at the hands of their girlfriend in a way that conclusively links it to real world events of years ago in japan

overall its a solid premiere. this episode has a very cinematic vibe to it with its usage of music and the voice acting. the animation was aight. the cgi was disappointing but tolerable. overall its a 8/10 from me.

Thought the episode looked pretty good, I dig the character designs and the color choices and lighting they went with felt fitting for the atmosphere this season should be aiming for. CG was surprisingly good too, only time it felt really jarring was with the Beast Titan cause of how lanky he is. Hopeful they can keep it up for the rest of the run.
