Outlaw Star

I'm binging some boomer anime that I never got around to. What do you think about this one, Zig Forums?

GOAT opening

GOAT ED and it has titties
Don't remember much else, watched it over 20 years ago.

I enjoyed it, kinda drags on some episodes.

Great show but fell off toward the end

It's very inconsistent in both animation and quality, some episodes are total trash and some are great but overall it's a fun show

Also Aisha is best girl

I watched it for the first time earlier this year and loved it. Unfortunately the middle stretch of the show kinda drags a bit, but overall it's great.

Proof that Santa isn't real, or he's been a jerk to me ever since this show first aired.

this

Fun show, I'm not sure why it turned into a classic though. It's good but isn't a masterpiece in anyway. Maybe it's just the cat tiddies.

As a kid I wanted to get /ss/
As an adult I want to get cuddled by her

It was basically Firefly/Guardians of the Galaxy, the anime, so it resonates a lot with westerners.
The characters and their relationships are all memorable and likable.
The animation may be inconsistent, but when it's good, it's REALLY fucking good.
The OP and EDs are some of the greatest of all time.
Great dub, from a period when anime dubs started getting really good.
Nostalgia, from the Toonami era.

I think the biggest thing it has going for it, though, is that it's simple. It's not deep, there are no pretentious allegories or commentaries, and the characters don't have big, complicated backstories and emotional arcs. The story is not even very original, at all. It's just a simple story with a simple premise and simple characters, told in a very competent way, and that's enough.

Yea it's pretty good OP.

One of the best late 90's Sci-Fi anime.

Also the mix of sci-fi and fantasy in a cool cybermagic setting. And the caster gun is some fucking cool chuuni shit that I wish got more screentime. Things like procuring ammunition for it since it's supposed to be lost tech would've been cool to see.

Yea got weird quick considering how shit started but love the main crew and their interactions also banger OP.
Toonami aired the dubs awhile back, maybe that got some people to watch it awhile back recently?

i only made it to like episode 19, couldnt finish cuz it got so goddamn boring to me.

and don't forget the ending songs

This is my problem with it. The first 8 episodes or so are great, because things actually move. But once the Space Race arc starts, a whole bunch of fucking nothing happens.

Second Ending song is the best one, and has a better set of pictures.

Highly underrated. I like it better than Bebop.

That was literally an episode. They also reference spending big money to buy shells

Really? Got an episode number? It's been awhile since I watched it. Was it when they protect the arms dealer from the samurai bitch?

It predates Firefly though

They used it as a half-gag episode, so it alternated between lore drops and hot spring shenanigans. I don't remember the number, but it was near the end. My guess is 19 or 20.

Actually no, it's the voice of Rogue in the 90s X-men and Spiderman cartoons. Who's apparently a politician.

I thought it was the voice of Bulma actually, with all the voice cracks.
