after skimming through this chart, I just realized that I really do have no idea what the fuck is going on besides the major plot points, I've only read each chapter 360 to 389 as they were releasing on Zig Forums with mixed MS/viz translations. I actually still haven't even read chapter 390, I've only seen a few characters and panels like the snake guns/lady reading the magazine because I wanted to save myself new content

I think he has no interest in it anymore and struggles to get back into the mindset of being interested in it for the job. Regular writer's block is something you resolve in less than 2 years.

Drawing gives him physical pain and he probably has more money than he can spend in a lifetime of luxury. Even if he still enjoys artistry there's no sense adhering to the WSJ format of weekly manga. There's other artforms and if you're just creating art and stories for your own satisfaction there's not even a need to publish.

HxH is pretty versatile and lends itself to being able to switch genres..I wouldn't really call HxH singular with Gon being written out and Kurapika being like a quarter of an MC at the moment...The only real attachment this arc has to Hunter x Hunter at the moment is nen, hunters, and a few characters, other than that it hasn't really felt like a battle shounen at all..There's been a lot of death but I cant remember any real fights except for Chrollo vs Hisoka which was still a bit out there for a typical shounen fight

That's not how it works. First of all with 2 series ending there'd be plenty of space (there are 21 series as of this issue, but only 19 in 2), but even if there wasn't, it wouldn't matter, Togashi has released batches when the magazine was "full" in the past. running with 1 more series for a few issues isn't exactly a big deal especially when an axe round is likely incoming anyways.

Now that I've said that, Togashi still won't come back.

He realized that the subject matter in the arc was fucking boring and likely misses writing fast paced adventure stories
