Love my job, I can’t stand the people. Fortune 100 data engineer. AMA

>he willingly works for someone else

Deep down we all welcome the sweet release of death

yes, i work part time at a small coffee shop

What the fuck do you do all day?

I dont work on biz

When STA hits $1, I am walking the fuck out

Nope. Only reason why I do it is purely to exchange my time and labor from money. That is literally it

checked.
yes. retail management at a fairly slow paced location. enough to keep busy most days, occasional really boring day.

also pastor a church.

Yep. HVAC engineer. I design hospitals and American manufacturing plants. It's very rewarding.

Profissional NEET. It's not to bad, pops give me money and i invest in crypto.

10% of the time when I can get into a nice flow state. It's nice to feel accomplishment. But in a perfect world I would be doing it for myself and not for someone else.

Yes but also this I like analytical chemistry, but if I had the cash I could start my own lab.

I love my job, but hate my coworkers, clients, and most of the industry.

Used to work in retail. Didn't hate it desu.

Sure, one would need to deal with some absolute assholes now and then, but you also get the brainlets who get up in your face over unreasonable demands who get absolutely seething when you gave them a polite smile and a
>"I'm sorry, but we're not allowed to do that"
>"It's against store policy"
>"I could make an order for you, but we can't get an estimate on arrival date"
Some of the faces one gor from that are memories I will cheerish to my death

It's the small things

Yeah kind of

I’m an investigator for UK government tax, but we investigate whether self employed people should really be employed (and pay the right amount)

I see it similar to Eliot Ness and you investigate and meet lots of interesting celebs and companies

I get to work whenever I want, from home or the office, and it’s basically like you get a case and work it til it’s done, no one checking up on you or anything, they just hire the right people who will work it properly to their own pace. It’s also very rewarding as we have a team tally of money saved for the taxpayer each year, last year it was £30 million, enough to run a few schools.

The industry will work you to the bone though. Some of the hardest worked and lowest payed engineers out there...besides civil. Literally every week there is a deadline.

Yes, although I'd certainly trade it for the ability to not need to work. In the world where I need a job, I'm very happy.

Yeah oil service company. Even its getting chucked now. Also slowly dying. Buy nkla

I mostly go to meetings with insane people, interact with psychopathic executives who don’t understand tech. Honestly most of my time is dedicated to coming up with technical documentation to explain why we CANT do a certain project.
However sometimes I do real work and deliver something of value. I work a lot with AWS, Microsoft, Google cloud and these days we are focused on making cloud agnostic frameworks that become POCs but never go live.
I probably do about 10 hours of real work a week on average, probably 35 hours in total. This is simply because I’m super efficient at my job, specifically I’m very talented at telling people no.
Seriously though, read Dilbert if you want to understand more. My life is basically Dilbert.

>English teacher
>students flirt with me
>20 hours of work a week plus a few planning
>make like double the average salary of the fairly nice city i work in + free housing
>easy delivery for great cheap tasty foods
>super cheap alcohol
Honestly miss it, was going to go back but wuflu hit

I'm a scrum master with about 8 months experience. It's been good, although at times I could be busier so I have to find new reading and learning material constantly but there's plenty of it out there.

Salary is good also at 6 figures. Pay a fuck load of tax though

No, which is why i invested in crypto as a possible escape.

>his
it's her, sweetie. more than just guys browse here

>Some of the hardest worked and lowest payed engineers out there...besides civil. Literally every week there is a deadline.

I think you're working for the wrong company. I say that only because my previous employer was like that until they laid me off. I've also heard of many companies expecting their engineers to work unpaid overtime.

My new job pays 25% more than my last, above the median for engineers in my city and they're serious about 40 hours per week. If I work overtime (paid overtime) for 3 weeks in a row, I get a call from the department manager asking me if everything is okay. If your employer doesn't treat you with respect, find a different company that does.

If I could find a job

no
I only need a 3x or so to have enough to be comfortable to quit
sometimes I get kinda of scared though, not having it all as cash, only in crypto form

but I guess selling crypto is better than actually working

I used to love my job for the first two years.

I'm happy for you user. Maybe it was a bad company, but from my understanding it is pretty common for that industry. Every owner wants their building built on time. I left the industry completely. Now I have a cushy defense position that pays 30% more, is only 40 hours, and way less stress (no deadlines).

I'm a software engineer, it started out as good but I'm fucking sick of WFH. I need an office environment to work properly, my new manager is a pajeet that doesn't like me and I work with other pajeets that have no regard for work/life balance.

Shame that 30m has been wasted on Eat Out to Help Out vouchers for Wagamamas and encourage wave 2

>Go to school to learn a valuable skill
>Use your skill to help another man realize his dream while ignoring your own
>Give half your pay to the government to help subsidize the extermination of your race

LOL

Yeah I do, I work as front-end dev 2 days in the week. Rest is uni. Quite chill no one up my ass I just do what I like doing but insteas getting paid for it. Also can work often from home

My job is to keep you informed about the latest and greatest shitcoin bags, your job is to buy them

I am indifferent to my job. Its a place that provides me with a fat paycheck.

>Dropped out of Uni joined Canadian Military in 2018
>Corona hits and I haven't worked since March
>Get $1700 CAD every 2 weeks
Yes user I'm enjoying myself

Where?

>getting paid to sit on my ass and do nothing since March
Yes.

I did enjoy my previous job

It was also a useful tool to buy LINK tokens with

no. i'm a corporate accountant at a medical device company. 80% of my day is spent arguing with retarded coworkers or answering retarded questions or doing retarded busywork. i make $70k and will likely be promoted to $80-85k within the next year. this is the only reason why i'm still doing this shitty career, because it pays a middle class wage.
