Worst anime with above an 8.50 on mal
Would've been a lot more interesting if it had something more to say besides "war is bad guis"
>Violet thread every day
It's like christmas came early.
Everyone should know by now that MALs rating system blows
>¥2,000,000,000
Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece and you got filtered hard.
>you will never live on a grape farm island with Violet as your adoptive mother
Why live?
thanks
I’m going to say what I said in that other VEG thread from before because it still stands and none of the VEGfags made a counterargument against it. Some people on Zig Forums are quick to blame the author for making the story and characters boring, but that’s not entirely fair. Kyoani had the opportunity to make interesting and creative choices in order to really enhance the story. That is their job after all when making an adaptation, but they chose to make safe choices, designed to reduce the risk associated with the project. The music is safe that’s why 90% of it sounds like it belongs in an elevator. The framing and cinematography is safe which is why there are so few dynamic shots even though Kyoani’s got this reputation for high quality visuals. The story they chose to adapt is safe with extremely obvious messages like war sucks and it hurts people and love is confusing that literally no one is interested in arguing against anyway. Playing it safe and making choices with the intent of reducing the risk attached to your project is a business decision, not an artistic one, so given how many artists they say they have, it’s rather galling that they’d choose to execute the show in such an uncreative way. It’s no wonder the most common complaint people have is that it’s boring, because that’s what business decisions are. Boring. The anime could have been more. Kyoani were in a position to add a lot more to the experience, because they claim to be creative people themselves, yet they chose to keep it so safe and risk averse it ended up making people fall asleep instead.
Is there anything that’s good? Yes, the animation looks pretty and has a lot of detail. That was already expected of them anyway, because it’s what the studio’s entire reputation is built on. They’d be fucked if they didn’t do that. Also, the marketing for the series before its release was pretty good too. Not too big a surprise, since that's a business decision too.
>Violet as a mom
>Can't even crack an egg
>I’m going to say what I said in that other VEG thread from before
Absolutely no one is going to read all this shit, user.

Noooo its so good
This. I stopped reading after second sentence.
Awww.... is reading hard for you? Lel.
dont worry user, dragon ball super is coming back soon
How would you save the pig?
>Lel
No, I just don't want to wasting time reading the opinion from someone that unironically posts "lel"
but feel free to stay obsessed with Violet
Ssssshhhhhhh. It's ok, here's something more your speed.
>no you
Great arguments as always, obsessed-kun.
Think only of Bioretto.
Post only about Bioretto.
Make threads only for Bioretto.
>3 years later and she's STILL making people seethe
How does she do it?
How much of your time did you waste on that shallow garbage?
Would you eat her cooking?
>The framing and cinematography is safe which is why there are so few dynamic shots
I like VEG and don't entirely agree with you, or even this point in particular, but if you look at the cinematography, blocking, editing, framing, and just visual choices in general, the difference in creativity is pretty astounding if you were to compare it to some of Kyoani's other works like, say, Hyouka. I'm not saying it should be like Hyouka or at Hyouka's level, but VEG really wasn't up to Kyoani's usual standard in this regard.
>VEG really wasn't up to Kyoani's usual standard in this regard.
Probably something to do with Ishidate being the director - he definitely has potential, but he's still a director newbie, and still has a lot to learn before he can match Takemoto's flare.
It was a big step up from Kyoukai no Kanata at least
You're free to believe that. Truth is, I brought up the trailer too because the trailer suggested it would have a lot more than what was given. The trailer has a lot of dynamic shots and movement and suggested they were taking Kyoani even further. The fact that it wasn't visually engaging outside of their color choice made it very uninteresting to watch. And yes, I would say it felt like the trailer lied.
She tries her best, so of course.
I'd prefer cooking for her though.
>And yes, I would say it felt like the trailer lied.
Probably because it was an advertisement for the light novel - not the anime.
