Huh pokemon manga is actually pretty good
Huh pokemon manga is actually pretty good
>2020... I am forgotten
Yes, yes it is
and then you will find out next season is not translated
You're correct!
Sapphire, White and Y are all superior.
The author always puts a ton of effort in featuring as many elements straight from the games as possible, the plots are heavily made up in the first two gens due to how little to work with there was, but from the third on it tends to become more faithful as well and to improve on the actual game plots. My personal favorite element is seeing previous protagonists return all grown up, it's something the rest of the franchise basically never does aside from Red and Blue in SM and little else.
The X&Y arc is just Pokemon Evangelion.
I will never miss an opportunity to post delicious ORAS Sapphire does anyone have the edit where the sign says 'UR A FAGET'?
The XY gang... had a hard life.
What happens there that is so like Evangelion?
Antagonist wants to reset world.
Protagonist is depressed.
Friends all have emotional issues.
Kid gets killed by kaiju.
Overall the second best arc in the series.
Dengeki Pikachu is better.
Which one is the first best for you? BW, RS or DP?
>That time Tierno and treblvor had to dog through a pile of pokemon corpses.
I bought some of the adventures ones at my mall like 10-ish years ago when the bookstore was still open in it. It was nice and cozy despite not having had watched Pokemon since like 2005 and never playing the games.
Went to shit after GSC
>didn't get Perfect Zygarde until SM because Game Freak is retarded
My only issue, though it was already cool for the arc to be structured in a way that turned Xerneas and Yveltal into the midpoint climax and gave the second half to Zygarde like it was adapting the hypothetical Pokémon Z.
Oh cool, I might check it out then.
Do I need to read all the other arcs beforehand or can I just start from its beginning?
XY is pretty much standalone, Green (or Blue depending on region, the rival from Pokémon Red and Blue) shows up to help at one point but you don't need to know his personal history to understand it.
Wrong Pokemon manga.
I used to LOVE this as a kid, but rereading it now it's pretty mediocre honestly. BW was good though
RS
Anyone else like DPP? It was comfy and I don’t even like sinnoh that much. BW and the original three are better but I liked it a lot.
I really need to finish BW and read some of the later ones one day.
BW for the longest time seemed to only have annoying releases on sites where it'd be split between the single Pokemon Special manga and BW as its own separate thing and then there would be some in one and some in the other and there would be a gap of chapters and then it STILL wouldn't finish it all.
I found a site that seems to focus on Pokemon Special and has it all for all of them, but after using list style sites for so long, their page by page style is such a turn off. I've only read up to a bit past Elesa.
Ruby and Sapphire
Thanks! I will try to check it out then.
Just read it on mangadex, everything up to and including BW2 is listed as just Pokémon Special while each arc from XY on has its own separate page. This is because the manga started being published in separate volumes for each arc in Japan rather than the single continuous numbering it had up to that point due to BW2's interminable hiatuses, though now that it's finally over they've been publishing the gen 6 and up arcs again with their actual numbers.
I don't care what anyone else says, this single panel is my favorite scene.
Pokemon Special is the zenith of Pokemon media.
I can't believe that we are finally at the point when there is only one arc ongoing again.
I'm glad they skipped Let's Go games, though I wouldn't mind seeing older characters from Kanto again.
