When and what was the first manga you read?
I don't remember it well, something about a dude meeting some mysterious magic chick and there was a line about star wars that the translators notes specifically mentioned was not a localisation. it was by CLAMP I think
Got this from my nana for Christmas when I was like 8-10 I've read this series at least like 5-6 times (kanto)
as for when I was about 14
Hitman Reborn
Pic related
Yotsuba
Berserk when I was 14.
t. 21 now
naruto
Dragon drive, 2008
Fire Punch
Earlier this year during the storytime
Read Blade of the Immortal once when I was 17-18yo but never finished. The first manga I've read from start to finish was probably Erased.
I tried to read a volume of Kingdom (in french) while staying at my uncle's place for the summer as a kid, but until then I had only read comics and graphic novels so I read it left to right and got confused.
Probably this, +Anima, or those Legend of Zelda manga- stuff they had at the library. I had to be in third, fourth grade?
holy shit same I still have it on my shelf
The legitimately first Japanese comic book I had in my hands might've been Gon (lol) or some mecha series like Harlock or maybe Versailles no bara. However, the first manga I read while fully realizing it was something different from other comic books was a Sailor Moon magazine in 1997. Never stopped reading manga since.

It was jojo part 5
Read One Piece in the OG english Shonen Jump from a drug store in 2002/2003.
Ouran cuz I was a little faggot and still am
Zombie Powder and Gun Blaze West where the first ones that I really got hooked onto. Later I found Negima at the library and now I'm a weeb addicted to hentai who posts on a underwater basket weaving forum.
whoops forgot the pretty picture
I think my first manga was chapter 37 of Naruto Shippuden that I found on the public library when I was at high school
probably dragon ball in a dentist office when I was super young
I bought the german-WSJ-equivalent Banzai in my teens, so I started with stuff like HxH, Naruto, DNA², Shaman King, Neko Majin Z
First tanks I bought were Love Hina
Looking back on it, I think King of Bandit Jing was the one that really made me appreciate manga on a level that wasn't just "omg sexy girls" or "omg epic fights". Jing had a certain artistic element to it.
Fire Punch and CSM rekindled some of that appreciation for manga.
>8 or 9
>Nardo
Gantz or Berserk
Cowa!, by the Dragon Ball guy
Ranma and no clue, it's been years.
The legend of zelda manga.
OP here, fun fact: I read this only a few months before the storytime, then proceeded to miss it
It was the 90s and I discovered dragon Ball was actually a comic. I begged my parents to buy one. They said they would if I passed my exams. I did, and I got AN issue. A single one. It was Trunks vs Cell. I destroyed that comic by coloring it.
