Yes, it's honestly the best TV anime since Evangelion, for manchildren demographics like Zig Forums anyway.

I almost hate to say it because I dropped the manga a long time ago because I wrongly assumed it was a regular dumb mass market shonen and I thought a plot twist was phony, but in reality the whole thing was meticulously planned with very few dumb plotholes and I was filtered.

It starts off with humanity fighting basically giant zombies with all kinds of resources and strategy then becomes absolute shit with the MC that same to kill all of them in revenge being another special snowflake faggot THAT CAN TURN INTO ONE for powerlevel cancer then everything becomes a shitty political drama with a bunch of suddenly surviving civilizations.

Absolute cancer destroying its own appeal like narushit, but even sooner and ugly as hell like generic brown FPS. Don't bother.

first season 1 is okay, a bit too on the preachy side and overly talkative and nothing is really a 'shock' (you can figure out some "twists" a mile away). Season 2 has some great moments but it used very little material to fill 12 episodes and it shows. 3a is a slow burn but finally you start getting some answers, and it continues the trend in 3b. But nothing is gonna be worth anything if season 4 isn't going to be amazing, and so far it ain't looking so good.

I assume you just watched the first season, or first few episodes. Yes Eren is annoying as fuck, and a lot of things are kind of thrown at you to sort of keep your attention.

However, didn't you notice that everytime a typical shounen troupe came along (protagonist thinks nothing will happen to him, he gets angry and starts flailing around in a tantrum, etc) Eren and his friends got their shit pushed in? That's to hammer in that a normal shounen protag's antics don't work in this world.

Anyways, just know this series becomes more political thriller rather than gore thriller as it goes on.
