I can't stop fucking thinking about Arc-V lately and today I thought, is this even comparable to how trashnime fans felt about XY after so much to draw from, build up and go out blazing on when It's obvious retards fucked with the ending and even caused multiple staff from the very beginning to quit afterwards?
It's late as fuck, but you're not alone. Everything ending someday like this beautiful song and its manga softly tells you to deal with isn't so sad when you lose control and angrily think of all the fucking shit that will just keep happening forever otherwise, even to what used to bring you the most enjoyment. The only sad part is people and things you love dying before they should and the wrong way.
Arc-V was trash as soon as they left Standard, and got somehow even worse as it went along. XY was okay till that shit they pulled.
Samuel Richardson
Will we ever getting Arc V Remake?
Robert Price
You can rewatch Arc-V and see stuff you didn't notice before. But, even so, the show felt like it had the potential to be great both overtly, and in a subtle sense. I assume YGO is always succeeding in a subtle sense, after I read that NeoArk essay on Yoshida and mythology and the like.
Yet anime that is great both subtlely and overtly requires collaboration. Great works require great effort, and a serialization is difficult to do right.
The writers and staff might have got burnt out.

Would Yuya not go berserk if Gongenzaka just shoved some sushi into his mouth? Was he just hungry?
They wasted all that fucking time just to not even recruit a proper army even if Jack basically is one himself rather than making any of the LDS trio Lancers or giving Yuzu more duels and none of what Yuya learned mattered or ever appeared again like his Paladins when him and her learning more summoning methods seemed like it was building towards something great.
Our ONLY hope is some kind of revisit someday. GX will eventually get nostalgic enough for some form itself even if not full blown DSOD treatment. 5Ds will follow, then Zexal, then finally something with over 20 fucking years to reflect on all the backlash near the end. Why would they remake anything besides after Standard and why so specific?
Austin Davis
On that note, the other reason Arc-V had such a shit ending is that it literally doesn't feel proper. Reira is a fucking baby, the other Yus are trapped in the same body and have lost their lives, but no one cares despite Serena being their comrade and basically fucking begrudging friend, the "evil" Zarc was just an innocent soul driven mad because of the cruelty demanded of him along with his 4 beloved dragons' anger and somehow Yuya doesn't even utter a word about trying to save him with EGAO when he used to be just like him trying to entertain, Reiji is not a final duel material opponent with his lacking relationship that isn't a personal obstacle to overcome unlike Atem, Jack or Astral, while Shun IS with all his hatred and feelings of loss and betrayal easily utilized with his Special Summon punishing Raidraptors wiping a colorful, playful field with the destruction and fire chillingly reflecting in his eyes, but isn't done justice aside from an obligatory Rank 12, where those spirits' voices that kept leading him to creating new monsters was never explained and Xyz and Fusion Dimension have to still have animosity being forced to live together ala Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and most unbelievably, that fucking faggot responsible for everything over muh daughter faces no kind of sentence for any war crimes or against humanity from any of the combined entire worlds' legal systems, ESPECIALLY Xyz even after his mad scientist could have turned 4 kidnapped teenage girls into sex slaves that were also kind controlled into attempted murder and nearly caused 4 entire worlds to get destroyed.
Daniel Miller
The ending was so shit I don't feel like breaking down the stretch of the series. Can't believe you have the energy for that though.
Jackson Bell
Care enough to fucking get pissed don't I?
Brayden Thomas
If it makes you feel better this guy disappeared and never came back for some reason.
Master plan still in place? Have chess replace YGO?

Looking back, Roget got off easy

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Pre synchro Arc-V was the best yugioh had ever been since the original. The characters were awesome, old cards and archetypes got the time of day, Sora vs Shun is one of the top 5 duels of all time.
But then it completely fell apart when they got shoved into ANOTHER tournament in Synchro.
Gabriel Collins
He's either dead or more hopefully (fuck that word) coming back as the main antagonist someday, which will also give Yuzu more reason to finally step up again and kick his ass for all the shit he put her and Yuya through just for himself and resorted to killing everyone when they didn't kneel.
Alexander Cooper
Maybe the portal took him to SEVENS and we'll see him in cutesy form with a fucking croissant deck or something.
Luis Myers
He was sent to another dimension just like everyone in the area, but never appeared in any of the other known ones. That alone supports a revisit that could tie up other shit properly.
Carter Ramirez
I hate life so fucking much.

Not that user, but thematically, it seemed like everything was building towards a Yuya vs Z-arc to me. Yuya's arc over the build up episodes, Z-arc's portrayal, his whole character of wanting to make people EGAO. It made no sense for them not to have the protagonist duel the final boss.
Instead, we get him running around aimlessly to make a baby smile because reasons.
Anthony Campbell
user meant XY.

Get over it

It was still fun

Liked Arc V but yeah after the prison, the show started going sideways. Felt rushed. At least Yuya got somewhere with his girl though.

I understand the frustation and "phantom pain" syndrome but it shouldn't keep you away from enjoying the Standarc arc and everything that it did so well.(I rewatched it myself this year.) This is nothing new to anime, you can find a lot of unfullfilled stories, specially during the OVA boom in the 80's, that are still held in high regard by people.
Also the XYZ comparison isn't quite the same as that just crashed and burned at the tail end of it's run while Arc-V had one year that was some of the best the franchise has to offer, one year of mediocrity and one year of infamously terrible.
At this point I just pray that they choose to make the Arc-V world in Duel Links take place post-series so we can get some fanfic scenarios like the Yus and Ruris being split up within the game and Shun being able to see his sister and friend again.
