Is this counting JDC sales or only comics? Because if they only axe the paper but the same editorial structure and branding stays in place or even if it's formally merged with J+ that's fine. And even then they'd be doing better than 1996-99.

No because most WSJ sales now are Jump Digital Comics sales. It could stay the same but with only digital circulation, and perhaps a more lenient serial count.
