Not true in the slightest. Rotoscope animation usually has absolutely god awful timing, and uncanny movements because the animator relies too heavily on what the footage they're using features - just because it takes a lot of time and effort to make an animation does not magically make it good, you have to understand the principles of animation, which is why referenced footage always turns out so much better.

the only thing that matters here is the animation, and right now it's lacking because MAPPA is too reliant on CGI, no matter how good it looks. WIT also used CGI on environments and it looked good because they primarily used 2D. CGI can't replace 2D
Rotoscope also doesn't work because of the scenes they are used in, using rotoscope in a dialogue scene is meaningless and looks forced/goofy.

Sorry, I misinterpreted. I think they're just trying to find ways to spruce up what would otherwise be pretty static dialogue shots. There were some really smooth moments of character animation this episode. Even little subtle things like Zeke leaning over and handing out cups of coffee to the warriors. I'm not entirely sure if those things are rotoscoped as well, but if they are I can understand why they're doing it.
