it's not a euphamism. the core premise is "if herbivores and carnivores forced themselves to live with one another but still ate each other would that be fucked up or what?" and all the psychosexual focus emerged from thinking about what it'd be like growing up in sych a world

If that was the case then the majority of the things the characters do would be fucking retarded, because keeping the herbivores and carnivores together is the dumbest idea from the start. Further, the idea that that kind of society would happen to evolve to have normal high schools is also dumb.
It's not speculative fiction if it's set in a high school, it's a metaphor for adolescence like 90% of manga

Eating meat from dead people in Beastars does have drug-like connotations at times, and feeding on actual living beings can be akin to rape in a sense, but the subject(s) in the context of the story don't really cleanly map to any of those single topics in particular.

For the most part, things like carnivore instincts, live predation, meat eating, carnivores and herbivores sharing society, etc. are probably all more like varying metaphors for human relationships in general, rather than having some sort of 1:1 meaning. It's a lot of things.
