Oh great another one of these female mangaka are better writers threads

Because their writing is less often guided by wish fulfillment and lust. :^)

sauce?

I didn't like either example you posted.
I also doubt any w#man could make a masterpiece like Yuusha ga Shinda.

Except dgrayman is trash.

Picked the fuck up, thanks user

FMA was awful.

I can understand the FMA example, it was one of my favorite shonens in the past 20 years.
But D.Gray-man? It was a directionless mess relying almost purely on style and a likable cast even before the author got crippled and turned it into an occasional shiny fever dream. That said, I do prefer Lenalee, Road, and Miranda over any girl in FMA.

Goku could beat them.

even naruto could do it

I haven't read enough Shounen by women to come to a general conclusion about them.
But I liked that FMA was a shounen where the MC doesn't solve problems simply by getting stronger or unlocking hidden powers.
Or by adding someone to his crew that has hidden powers.
Its plot was more focused on uncovering the mysteries around their world and developing the characters of Ed and Al which is much more than I can say for the typical shounen which is basically just aimless power creep for years until the investors decide to axe it.
I've come across very few shounen that aren't the latter. FMA, Chainsaw Man, Beastars, To You the Immortal, and Eureka Seven to name a few.

Do you mean character writing?
In which case I kinda disagree, there are male writers of shounen MC that have good character chops behind them:
-Gon from HxH, Yoh from Shaman King, Neuro from MTNN, leo from Kekkai Sensen, and Tarouza from Doubutsu no Kuni were good imo. They all have their individual arc, personality ticks, without edging too hard into feeling like blank projection material for power fantasies.
Other shounen do run into that a bit more obviously (i.e. Nart for Naruto, Ichigo from bleach, Goku/Gohan from DBZ, Asta from BC, and of course whatever isekai/harem show is popular).
I don't think the latter ones I mentioned are inherently bad, if it serves to entertain it's main target audience (i.e.boys from 13-18ish?), then it's done it's job. But I do think they are characters that have less universal appeal, compared to the former list, as non-demographic targeted audiences can probably enjoy characters like Ed or Tanjiro more compared to say Naruto or Asta.

The bigger difference between female and male writers for shounen imo is the amount of attention to character relationships and how much bearing they have on the story. Female mangaka's in general I feel tend to consider it as intrinsic part of good story telling. For Male shounen authors- good relational writing is more optional (i.e. Gon's poor relationship with his dad v.s. Ed's with Honhenhime).
That to me is more so a difference of preference values story telling wise, then necessarily 100% objectively universally 'good' writing.

That's... kind of a an impossible marker to meet because everyone has different tastes.
So it's not really that surprising that female authors may be more attuned to writing characters more non-shounen audience also enjoy. But I don't think that means those stories & characters are always 'better. Just that it's easier for me to enjoy them, b/c their built in values align more with mine.

fma is the only good battle shounen written by a woman and that doesn't even compare to the best shounen written by real men

They make more emotional shit

full power magi can manipulate physics to throw them away, or get hold of the rukh of the universe and reshape it gg womyn mangaka win again

Older women know what young boys want

If the shoe fits

/ss/?

Women 100% draw better fanservice/porn than men. I truly don’t understand why.

Most female mangaka draw either shojo or hentai.
Most men mangaka draw either shonentard or hentai.
When you're good you'll stick out, gender doesn't matter unless your editor simp for you.

makes you fucking think, huh?
pic rel is a spoiler for Iruma, don't open, you'll get spooked

Miranda Lotto is cute as hell when she smiles and eats properly.

I generally agree with your point and while reading I remembered that while I really liked FMA I didn't really like or care of Ed or even his brother. I didn't dislike them but I thought the Chink, Wrath and Scar were more interesting characters as a whole.

Based as fuck, croc dabbing in the entire anime and manga industry just goes to show how male authors suck, since most of them are incels with zero life experience meaning they can't write for shit. The few exceptions are chads like Togashi, Araki or Noda who are married, travelled around the world and have multiple hobbies instead of just being pathetic shut-ins.

But D.Gay-man went too shit just like the other shonen series.

everyone ITT saying DGM is trash or a shonen obviously hasn't read it for a long time.
i say that because 99% of the very rare D Gray Man threads are filled with anons who don't remember what happened or don't even talk about the chapter, it's always "wow, i didn't know it was still ongoing" and stuff like that.

ROAD IS BEST GIRL !
