Detective Conan

>The official website for the Detective Conan television anime teased on Wednesday that the anime will remake a "legendary god-tier episode," as the "first part" of its celebration of the anime's 1,000th episode. The anime will celebrate its 25th anniversary in January, and will air its 1,000th episode on March 6. The site unveiled three collage visuals, with tiny stills from various episodes forming the characters Shinichi Kudō, Kaito Kid, and Heiji Hattori. A still from the "legendary episode" is hidden within the three visuals.

>The website said the remake will feature the latest staff and production techniques. The staff of the anime are running a campaign that will offer a prize to the person who can correctly guess the episode that will receive a remake.

So what could it be? Haibara's introduction? Remake of Desperate Revival? Redoing Akemi Miyano's murder case which was adapted very poorly the first time?
Does any user wanna guess for the prize?
Are we gonna watch this when it comes out?

Who cares

No, Conan looked best with cell animation.

was moonlight sonata remade yet? that then
Kill yourself.

I assume everything in the Episode ONE end montage isn't going to be involved. Moonlight Sonata covered the climax, Akemi's death was restaged to be on the docks and the boss reveal episode literally used it as a flashback to her instead of their own episode they made right before Haibara showed up, where she instead dies in a warehouse (which is also what all the movies used until they stopped showing akemi dead)

Clash is way too long, Desperate Revival feels right. Haibara's debut is notable but they don't seem to recognize it as "god-tier". It has a couple callbacks like in the Haibara ED recently but Desperate Revival has always kept coming back somehow. It's considered the pinnacle story of the main couple, lots of ShinRan OPs or EDs use it somewhere.

I was gonna say it might be detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/The_Gathering_of_the_Detectives!_Shinichi_Kudo_vs._Kaitou_Kid but that was already remastered.

Remasters probably don't matter that much when it comes to recreations, at least I'd think. Desperate Revival was also remastered, just not aired in the premiere timeslot and instead on the other JP channel Conan sometimes reruns on. Lots of really average Detective Boys cases have remasters air in the weekly slot and they're just the usual thing, it's not a super special deal most of the time.

If each character who has a collage is getting an episode remade focused on them then that could be Kaito's. If it's just one then I still think Revival.

>legendary god-tier episode
more (pre episode 300) Haibara?

It's pretty much just the novelty. Some shots might look great, it could give Gosho a chance to draw more keyframes, but in general the animation and aesthetic is more than just a couple notches down. For things like this they should really go all out like Disappearance of Conan Edogawa and remind people Conan can be well animated and drawn digitally. But Episode ONE looked ugly most of the time and really made it stand out how many shortcuts they've taken now compared to when it was all hand drawn. This special had moments that literally looked 10x better than their modern movies' animation.

Yea but drawn modernly.

>more (pre episode 300) Haibara?
yes please

It would make a lot of sense if one of them (if it's more than one) was a recreation of that Trembling Metropolitan Police Headquarter and 12 Million Hostages case. That stands out as a story Gosho himself has said as his favorite. It's just I don't believe any of this stuff is post-cel. It'd also be a major fitting reboot (that's what they keep calling this project) since Movie 25 was supposed to be this year and it was supposed to be about the dead police guys. This project likely was being underwent prior to M24's postponement.

Shinichi
Heiji
Kaito

As for the other three, it could always reuse Conan (as himself and not Shinichi), or be
>Haibara
>Sato or Takagi
>Maybe Ran or Vermouth

Depends on if the other side is female based like the left 3 character collages were men. I'd also say it would go Shinichi - Ran Heiji - Kazuha but it would leave an awkward non-pairable situation with Kaito since Aoko only showed up like that one time. Even though she's in an OP with Ran she's literally a non-character in DC.

if only

It's weird that TMS genuinely believes that they have advanced with Conan over the years when now more than ever they have been using CGI shortcuts (cars, entire shots of moving people) and even the Japanese think Ran looks horrible in their art and have done redraws to literally fix her. Them saying "grand event rebooting old famous episodes with our latest animation, technology, and staff!" like they're going to not half-ass it like every other thing they've made for years for Conan is laughable.

They should just stick with releasing classic episode batches on Bluray, and actual remasters and not upscales, and leave it at that. Put more focus into either working on your current animation issues or make an all-new story that doesn't directly ask people to compare the differences of a remake and make it blatantly obvious TMS is ass now and has been for awhile. It's doing a disservice to both golden age Conan and your actual good work to do that.

I think they may go for second part of this since it's the perfect way to drop a couple of subtle new hints for plotfags.

Or they could just stop making anime originals for a second and catch up on the actual plot happening the past few years. It would have been a little rough with Gosho's delays pushing it to the end of this year but they could have partnered with him to make FBI Serial Murder Case the big 1000, like how Clash was happening at 500. Have the last file reveal be for the 1000th episode.
But TMS would rather do this like it isn't an eyesore and their 1000th episode will highly likely be an original special as well.

Also fuck off you're the only one who keeps saying the plotfags thing.

Holy fuck I never knew they remade this episode it looks fucking horrible. And I even liked the newer episodes....

They did that Episode ONE special in 2016 that had an ending montage of some later cases.

There's only one episode they can remake

Attached: 1602787011429.png (832x624, 637.28K)

They should literally just do an Episode Two. The first episode remake was to more closely adapt the manga and stuff the anime glossed over or censored. Conan was getting his soul beaten out of him in the original chapters for the second episode but it was tamed down a lot. It was far more relentless. But they fucked up because "Episode One" couldn't also do all of episode two and it wouldn't make sense to do half of episode two, montage its climax, and then just recreate it years later.

I'd rather just see a full on Detective Conan Kai at this point and go fix all the mistakes from the early anime

Most of the stuff evens out before long. Just an occasional out of order case that trims off some references, like Haibara being mentioned in the Mystery Writer Disappearance case but she hadn't been introduced yet by that episode. The only other big thing they didn't correct was Conan learning Gin and Vodka's codenames on the train I think, they never tried to cover their ass for that despite eventually getting tightly connected to the storylines. They corrected Akemi's death two different times but not that.

A Kai thing seems like way too much convoluted trouble and work.

>toya never got properly adapted or given a voice actor
She was so cute, what was the point of writing her out for Kobayashi anyway? Why not just expand on Toya? After chapter 10 she's gone and then suddenly there's been a new teacher as of chapter 154 and Genta just remembers Toya for a moment. Then she just never exists at all after that. I bet Gosho doesn't even remember her since she was so irrelevant.

Was the idea of a strict asshole teacher who is just hiding her real caring personality at first that much of an enticing story to him?

whats wrong with her face in that one panel

Transparency issue, here.

Was he always such a hornball? His reaction to that teacher's...hand pat?

I'd love to read it if you do one.

Manga Kobayashi looks cuter than the anime made her look
