What went wrong?

:RE

Dropped after season 2. I thought the MC was gonna be the bridge between humans and ghouls but he just became an generic edge lord. Trash.

This is some low quality bait mate, take this pity (you) and try better next time.

Miza married Naki instead of me
Dawww I can't really be mad, Naki was a great guy and got a good end. Pumped nine kids into her, damn.

>What went wrong?
It ended

It went weekly

Stop calling me mate and explain the bad writing I mentioned in my post.

Since there's already a tg thread up might as well inform the few remaining ishidafags that there'll be an exhibition next year, if you're interested

a lot of things, but they were all redeemed in the end with the fujo holocaust that was the main character and the girl he was always saying he was into having relatively graphic sex for almost a whole chapter.
a truly legendary manga for this if nothing else

>You know the President? Ghoul.
>You know the anti-ghoul hunters? All Ghouls.
>You know all world leaders? Ghouls.
>You know celebrities? Ghouls.
>You know the ultra rich? Ghouls.
>You know the homeless? Ghouls.
>You know those people that we said aren't Ghouls? Ghouls.
>Ghouls.

Fuck off.

In the manga
>rushed pacing, especially towards the end
>character bloat
>art becoming worse around vol 9-10 of :re

Outside of the manga
>ishida burnt out
>worked on too many side projects and refused to take breaks

>be overpowered species
>not expecting them to take over the world
brainlet

>even tells his assistants and editor to not touch the chapter
Based. went full nuke on the annoying fujos who harassed him on twitter etc.

Nah, as always tends to be the case with manga, the writer simply can't up the stakes without just shitting on the entire premise and turning the entire world they created into a magical fun land where anything becomes possible because they can't manage tension or progression without introducing the next power-level or contrived "OH WOW DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING" moment.

Your retarded criticism gets undermined if you at least the first few volumes where it's said that many ghouls are behaving like normal humans to blend in society. There are so many other things that you could criticise the manga for, you went for the most stupid one

read*

Nothing went wrong, Tokyo Ghoul is great.
:re is when Ishida started overworking himself and it started going to shit, but to be fair the Rose arc is the best in the series so it is what it is.

Replace the word ghoul with lizard people

Halfway into RE when Ishida gave up and threw so many characters and built up plot points into the trash. Also, the cast was way too big.

This. Rose arc and good portion of Cochlea where MC regains his will to live was the peak of the series imo.

You mean jews

Same thing

Not that user but I do understand his point. There does seem to be a trend with anime to undermine the initial world presented to the viewer in order to force the plot forward, this is probably a formula problem in the way certain series are written. Each arc is essentially an obstacle for the MC to overcome, the issue becomes when the MC overcomes that obstacle and instead of relying on character development or a naturally driven narrative, the writer just creates a bigger more dangerous enemy to overcome and will generally undermine the universe created.
Take the point about Ghouls blending into society, a point made in the early parts of the story and it presents a world in which these things are very deadly, albeit rare and the ones functioning 'normally' in society are probably doing so in very controlled circumstances with the odd exception. Except the moment it becomes plot relevant, everyone and their dog is a ghoul.

I don't mind it, mainly because Tokyo Ghoul is nothing more than easy-to-watch-trash.

>What went wrong?
Nothing went right

But the author presented the world from the first volume the way it was meant to be presented - ghouls who look like normal humans living in the same society and hiding among other humans. The main cast are literally ghouls running a cafe and we are following MC's journey through the world of ghouls and it never changed. >ach arc is essentially an obstacle for the MC to overcome, the issue becomes when the MC overcomes that obstacle and instead of relying on character development or a naturally driven narrative, the writer just creates a bigger more dangerous enemy to overcome and will generally undermine the universe created
Is that why Amon, a human who got introduced very early on, was meant to be the MC's foil til the end? Or the fact that some guy who got portrayed as an undefeatable god actually curbstomps the MC and doesn't end in classic Shonen style with him asspulling some powerup to safe the day? This was consistent in its narrative, well at least up until we got to the weaker part of :Re sadly. Also, I just realized that Im talking to an animeonly so thanks for wasting my time

>Rose arc is the best in the series so it is what it is.
>best girlâ„¢ shows herself in all her sexy glory
>Kentucky undoes papa Arima's lobotomy
> gets back in touch with his inner edge once again
>Hairu fucking dies
>Kijima dies
>Furuta ENTERs like a fucking god
>blocks kagune with his bare hands
>everyone else dies
>Sharkbro gets Rize'd
>Urine finally archives character development
>Noro gets fucking dies
>best girlâ„¢ gets chopped, doesn't give a single fuck
>Back in Black eats her ass to gain godhood
>Tsukiyama was there too, I suppose
I remember the hype. We all thought we're going home. Instead, we went to the circus.

I feel you user, good times. Hopefully his next work can revive some of that magic

You forgot Kanae von Rosewald and her interactions with Shuu, easily my favorite part of that whole arc

>I remember the hype. We all thought we're going home. Instead, we went to the circus.
fitting, yes?

Chainsawman is the only mamga i can think of atm that breaks this pattern. But firepunch kind of takes this flaw to the extreme in its last few chapters in a way that i personally dont see it as a flaw. But maybe im just stupid.

She was awesome. Too bad the man she loved was too busy sucking Kaneki's cock to notice her, a defect of his that only got worse and worse as the series progressed.

Now that the dust has settled, I think this moment was kino

I watched the anime first and it ruined the manga for me, i just couldnt keep track of the timelines. Am i the only one?

And the show wasn't even that good. At least we got some good laughs out if.

the manga was shit too

forgot to say the :re part

CsM is just about MOTW with all the devils, actual boring stuff with no coherent plot structure and a MC as dull as ditchwater. It does nothing new
