Perhaps not super well written and a little repetitive, but it had an "it" factor that made it very pleasant to watch.

Eh, the first season was fine in my book. It definitely dragged a bit whenever they tried to hew too close to the main story but it had a nice adventure vibe and the goofy side episodes (Mary/Karva one specifically) were amazing. I wish they'd kept the same staff moving into the second season since I didn't like the new designs in S2.

Princess Connect was pretty good, but the tonal shift between plot and filler episodes almost feels like I'm watching two different shows. The comparisons to Konosuba, a series that has had maybe three or four scenes in the entire series that are taken completely seriously, are completely lost on me because of that.
