I had the members of my family invest in the same things I invest in, and they're making it while I make it.

I'd help them by letting them stay with me if they need some help getting back on their feet.
I'd help them by hiring them to do some work for me that I'd have hired someone for anyway.
I wouldn't give them a stack of cash if they came to me looking for a handout though.
If I had over 10 million dollars I would consider putting it in a trust that pays dividends to me and the closer members of my family.

No, they ignored me when I was going through a decade long period of depression. I managed to pull myself out of it, get a bachelors in my late 20s, worked out a career, and now they won't even talk to me or congratulate me (only member of my family with a degree).

I'll help the kids in my family with college tuition or a house down payment or business startup capital. For my older relatives I'm the closest with and who are financially stable I'll pay for things like weddings or honeymoons or emergency expenses like medical bills or car/house repairs. I'm really close with my brother and he's had a hard life. He is the only one I'd do something really special for, like 100% paying for a nice house and whatever car he wants.

I would allow my parents to leave their work and do something they want to instead but they must do something. Would also pay my father to renovate my childhood home (in which he lives)
