I'm sorry that I laughed at you for not buying HX with me. The truth is, I lost my job the other day. My girlfriend's boyfriend (open relationship, long story) was my boss and got jealous, so he fired me from my job. I already blew through the stimulus check and I didn't have enough money to pay the month's rent, so I put everything on HX at $1.31. I knew I was late, but I thought maybe, just maybe, it would go back up. At the time of writing this, it's $1.11.
In my excitement, I called my girlfriend to tell her I was rich. This was before it crashed. I told her I bought a stock that was Chinese, just like Wang, my boss. I guess even she realizes that gambling on stocks is a fool's game.
I am retiring from stocks forever. I'll have to beg my land lord to let me stay for awhile without paying rent, maybe with an interest so I'll just have to pay more later.

can someone help me with covered calls strategy? Say i want to sell covered calls on a low cap company. There is a bid for a call that I can sell for 10/16 that I would be happy selling. However, would it be a better idea to sell a call for the same price for 9/18, even if there is currently no market for it and hope someone buys it? At the same strike price. basically i wouldnt want to miss out on a double dip opportunity

Selling shorter dated strikes is better for covered call strats because of theta. But you also need some degree of liquidity to truly take advantage of any of it. Either that or volatility surges.

DRIP purchased a large number of shares over time (I'm in my mid 30s) and I started with my chores money and then my high school job money when I was young (my dad taught me well). As a covered call seller, theta is your best friend. I am not going to spoonfeed this to you. Sure but its kind of moot anyway. Covered calls start being something with larger cap or more liquid stocks. Technically yea, but it's a lot more difficult being happy at an objective disadvantage like that. Money alone won't make you happy but it positions you to better achieve happiness and be shielded from the pitfalls that litter your emotional landscape under poverty. The same honestly goes for the "love doesn't give you happiness" argument I see given to incels. Technically you can be happy just being an idiot in a shoebox sucking his thumb all day if your brain is wired for that, but ultimately there's no reason to argue against generally positive life milestones being strong backbones for personal happiness. Saying you don't need any of those things to be happy is indeed cope.
