>piece of shit flip flopper
even old dogs are allowed to change their minds.
And he's so high profile that he has to moderate what he says or get taken out by glowies. He could single handedly crash the market by saying the wrong thing, and that would basically create an instant-recession.

thanks for that, OP a shit.

It's more that I don't want to baghold, and I don't have physical gold so I don't mind increasing my exposure.

And Barrick has top notch management that is successfully operating mines during a pandemic.

so gold miners.
yeah that's not exactly the same as SILJ

was it the 1/10?
I wouldn't worry at all, you're golden

are you satisfied with your current sexdoll?

Whats that, about $500MM? 1% ownership

I got my bat boi today, I really like the 5oz size. I don't think I'm going to make it, but I'm trying. Hopefully we get another dip so I can buy some more.

A little over. That's pretty much the max they can buy in a quarter for a company that size without pumping the price. If it's a Warren buy, they'll keep adding until it's between 5-10%. If its a Greg or Todd buy that's as big as it's gonna get

The significance of the Barrick investment is that it is a starting-gun for people to stampede into the mining industry. Institutional investors and the general public are now going to see it as having Buffet's sanction. And the significance of his changing his mind about gold at the age of 89 will not be lost on them. The mining industry is so minuscule and neglected that only a small amount of new investors will send market-caps soaring.

Unironically the only non-gold based stock I own is BRK.B. When I saw he wasn't jumping on the irrational moon mission train, and BRK.B was depressed compared to the rest of the market, I bought up some shares. He might be old but honestly think his style of investing is best suited for these sort of times.

Fresh from selling the bottom on airlines, Buffet now fomo's the top on gold

>Holding over 100 billion in cash and operating one of the world's largest financial services companies
>Best suited for these times

checked
it's probably not, his style of investing is best suited for times when companies are allowed to go bankrupt, and there isn't enough easy money to cover up holes in your balance sheet.

cash equivalents, not literally USD
Also berkshire is a conglomerate that runs a bunch of companies, it's more than a portfolio of stocks. It may payoff to have all that cash on the books when he needs to pump money into his railroad company or geico or whatever.
Unlike many other companies, Berkshire isn't likely to get big bailouts.

beautiful

Short run I don't think having cash is all that dumb, long term it will be. I think he wants the cash on hand to buy up all the soon to be bankrupt businesses once their debt spirals.

happiness is knowing this ugly wrinkly fat old dinosaur will die within our lifetime

Been stacking for about a month now and interested in some miners. Moving to Colorado soon... As a shareholder you think it's possible to visit aurcana's mine? Interested in seeing their operations.

Nice bat boi

In the actual video the dreadnaught says to the Eldar in a completely deadpan voice

>I have come to destroy you.

youtu.be/rguPkHT5KkQ?t=89

Cash equivalents are cash because they are accepted as money in large transactions. When you're dealing with that much money, the only thing a counterparty will accept is TBills. Berkshire runs one of the world's largest reinsurance companies. They have hundreds of billions of dollars of potential liabilities. They also have the greatest insurance managers in the world, but it's more of an insurance company than a traditional conglomerate like Samsung, Tata, or General Electric. If Berkshire's general re was at risk of failing (geico is pretty much impossible to implode) it could potentially crash the world economy. It would get bailed out in a day.

>As a shareholder you think it's possible to visit aurcana's mine?
I call up interesting businesses fairly regularly and tour them. Sometimes they can accommodate or have someone that does them. Sometimes smaller ones can't though, or maybe Aurcana might not because of liability (trips and falls when walking the property). Always worth a call. Worst they say is no (just like asking a girl out!).

Thanks frens. I can't decide if I should like cool it for a while and see if there is another dip, or if I should buy another oz of gold now, or what. I feel like the right move is to hang tight for a bit considering I bought most of this at near or at ATH.
