I want to clear up the oil issue. Australia has more oil than the rest of the worlds known oil reserves. Also the fresh water resources are massive - literal oceans under you and I don't mean the current well known basins. Also, Australia is about 60% base metal. You wouldn't be like Norway you would be more like Switzerland but with a wealth beyond description - literal demigods on Earth.
