any sell is penalized with the 8% burn free or whatever it happens to be at the moment of selling. but if you were to hold for a few weeks and claim your rewards, it'll make up for the % lost due to the burn.
when you make a sell, it resets your staking timer which will minimize your rewards. so ideally, you want to be able to put a stack to the side for however long you're comfortable doing so, and then selling when you feel you're satisfied.
the shafting is to punish dumpers during downturns, and causes deflation to balance the inflation from rewards given to diamond-handed holders.
the burn rate increases for each consecutive negative day. today we’ve had 4 days in a row of dumping, so the burn rate is up to 14% (the highest it’s ever been btw). that means (1) nobody is going to dump unless they want to lose 14%, and (2) if they do dump, the deflation from the token burn offsets the dump to some degree.
basically it means this is the bottom. it’s been 3x up from here pretty recently and with more exchanges rumored and more big shillers on the way, a 3x seems pretty conservative.
