you seem to be a pretty smart and helpful user; for me a not really newb to this site or crypto at all but i rarely use uni/meta mostly just cbpro - what is the long story short on liquidity and locked liquidity?

Less liquidity = More Volatility. If you try to get in or out of an illiquid market with 10 ETH you're going to wreck the price. More liquidity means bigger trades can be done.

When you add liquidity you get UNI V2 tokens that represent shares of the pool. If you send those to a locked address (like Unicrypt) you can show you can't pull out the liquidity for a certain amount of time. It means the dev's can't pull the liquidity for 7 months.

It doesn't mean they couldn't dump their founders coins whenever they want though. It's not a be all end all to risk.

Everything is a risk, it's not just that you could get dumped on, they may not be able to deliver. Justin Sun could try to hostile take over or something. Who knows, right? But if it was a sure thing there would be no money to be made.
