The current TOTAL supply of XSN right now is 108 million. It is a slightly inflationary token (it’s designed to be), but the burn rate keeps that inflation pretty low. So even though there’s pretty much zero chance this hits a total supply of 150,000,000, I’ll be conservative for your sake and say it will.
That STILL means there can be at most ten thousand master nodes at any given time. 150,000,000/15,000 = 10,000. So by owning one master node, only 9,999 people on the planet can own more as many or more than you. That’s with magically inflating the existing supply nearly 50%, which is almost an impossibility in the short or even mid term.
Still not satisfied with that? Due to the way block rewards are divvied up, there is financial incentive for not all XSN to locked up in master nodes as past a certain point regular nodes begin to become more lucrative (45% of block rewards go to regular staking, 45% to masternodes). Which means realistically, at most 5000 or so masternodes should be up and running in this scenario.
Back in reality where we are at 108 million supply? That means only 54 million should be locked up in masternodes for maximum profits. I’ll round up to 60 million. Divided by 15,000, that’s 4,000 master nodes.
If you think this project is going nowhere then fine. But if you actually believe in this project, I’d be extremely happy to know that at most 3,999 other people are running one or more master nodes on the entire planet.

To put this even more in perspective, this means out of 7 billion people on the planet, only 5.12820513e-5 percent of people, or .00005% of the world’s population can run a master node.
Obviously rarity doesn’t necessarily indicate wealth or success - about that percentage of the worlds population owns bazingacoin probably and look how good that’s doing them.
But if you DO believe in Stakenet, know that owning and running a master node puts you in insanely rare company.

I should’ve added the caveat of “this won’t hit 150m by the time hydra releases.” The goal to “make it” is to hold a sizeable share of the nodes for the hydra-spurred bullrun.

I think hydra in Q4 2021 is the worst case scenario. I’m thinking 8-12 months is the likely case.
If they surpass my expectations and Raiden integration is complete before EOY, then probably even faster for hydra. After all the hydra phase is at its core just scaling everything from phases one or two, the first two phases are where the tech itself gets built and released.

XSN is a long-term hold and not some PnD. I expect a big pump with Raiden release, until then I wouldn't bet on too much of a pump even with the release
