XRP is the payment VEHICLE for the new system. Banks don’t have a use for XRP yet because we are still in the old Breton woods system from WW2.
Every country has their own fiat currency and most banks are just now entering into the digital asset space. So using XRP right now would be useless, but in the future not only the will they have no choice but XRP will be the fastest and most efficient way of payment.

David Schwartz said long ago that it wouldn't be backed by gold but that the value of it all would be transacted and flow freely over the XRP ledger. He has also talked about how the price would have to be high to facilitate this much activity. The only thing that would potentially be backed by gold would be the digital dollar when they roll that out. XRP will be the measuring stick for all other assets and currencies in kind of the same way that Bitcoin currently is for the crypto market. I'm glad to see the retarded "backed by gold" meme finally die.
