why would other chains use aave or snx if they can build new better platforms? polkadot has akro for example. betting on aave/snx is betting on eth

not that betting on eth is bad, i believe if they deliver 2.0 in 2 years then L2 solutions can keep eth alive until then
as an early eth investor I think something will replace it unless 2.0 is rolled out quickly and cleanly. there is so much momentum on it that it will be difficult, maybe impossible to replace but clearly something needs to be done and the market wants it.
I’ve been investigating algorand. I think it’s well positioned to replace eth but there a few problems - it’s not as “fun”. Eth is like the Wild West. Algo seems like it has the best tech but it’s very Wall Street-ey and professional. The non Turing complete smart contracts are the right decision but it limits the possibilities of dapps (though arguably all of the existing popular dapps don’t need Turing completeness). I think once a new platform is adopted everyone will view the era of eth as the crypto golden days and the birth of a new paradigm. There are other platforms but so far algorand is the furthest along and the most polished. Shill me with your educated viewpoint and tell me why algorand is not the next step forward.

you’re missing the point on eth though. the reason it’s slow and expensive is because people actually use it and want to use it. AAVE and SNX could theoretically work on other chains but all the interesting assets live on ETH even some muh ethkillers still do. defi doesn’t exist without assets people actually want to trade. Layer 1 ethereum will be a piece of shit for years still but later 2 solutions are already here. like it or not eth is here to stay.
