Where does Zig Forums store their crypto?

I want to make sure my crypto is safe. I heard mixed things about putting your wallet on Coinbase
I want to move to a cold wallet for safe keeping.

sell signal

i highly recommend getting a wallet that supports price locking. i locked in my chainlink stack at $19. gonna wait till it hits single digits again then i'll unload for massive profit. its worth the extra price to buy a wallet with that feature

I feel like no matter what option you pick theres a security flaw. I actually feel more sketched out with the hardware wallets than keeping my link on coinbase. speaking of which, how is the coinbase wallet? supposedly it lets you use DeFi apps on it

i have 42 wallets.
there is no reason to keep all your shit in just one place.
keep all your shit in one place and any attack to your wallet will mean a 100% of lost, but instead, spread the treasure and there is no way your coins get totally compromised

I have no clue thats why I was asking. I heard that coinbase puts your shit on ice. Is that true?

up my ass
i really never understood this meme because theres no way anyone is retarded enough to fall for it but with the people I've seen here lately who knows...

Lots of Qanon boomers and whatnot are being told to buy crypo so that's why

you don't store crypto, you store keys. I have mine on an encrypted tails usb, and they are further encrypted with their own passwords stored in keepass, and also some software to sign transactions offline (ie MyCrypto and Electrum). It's an okay solution if you don't wanna pay for a hardware walllet, it costs like $10 compared to $80-$150 and imo not any less secure in most scenarios. I would never store anything on an exchange, they aren't banks

they put like 98% of their crypto into cold storage but you dont own the keys, but thats just their regular service, im unsure about their wallet

get like 3 ledger nanos or trezors

split your coins in different wallets

split your recovery phrase in 3 pieces (24 words split into 8 words each)

now make pairs of 2 (you will need 2-pairs to get all 24 words)

split the 3 pieces of paper to 3 different locations

this way, if someone wanted to steal your coins, they'd need to go to 2-separate locations

each location will have 2 pieces (16 words)

you will need access to 2 locations to complete 24 words

Would a fireproof safe that has been cemented into the floor work?

This is the best advice you'll ever find on this site

Just get a Nano X and call it a day.

nano-tattooing morse code into your ass hole is the technique I have found to be most effective

Exodus

on a serious note, fuck ledger, I seriously cannot recommend them anymore. go for trezor or cold card I reckon

Ledger is the antithesis of what crypto should be

eh I don't know about that but they've just made so many retarded decisions recently I'm just fucking done with them. what do you think is the best cold storage solution?

I meant in terms of how they keep their stuff proprietary and are slow about reporting breaches and downplay problems. I like Trezor, because they keep things open source and work hard to broadcast security problems, being open and honest, etc. Also since they're the major competitors to Ledger, I would rather Trezor set the standard for how companies approach crypto going forward if I had to pick one of the two.
There are some other interesting options that are out, like BC Vault, which I would be terrified to use, but the problem is that only Trezor and Ledger have massive (1000+) coin support and I don't want to limit myself by going for a wallet with a smaller selection.
I hope there are more options in the future, but for now I'm putting my money on Trezor. Model T touch screen is sort of small, but I haven't had a problem with missing an input so far.

0/10 that b8 never b8'd anyone

demonstrably wrong

Kek if true

If I had a shit ton of crypto I would do this. I’ve got about 24k usd in link and keep almost all of it on a Nano S. It makes it more difficult to panic sell which is a big plus. I keep small ($1000ish) bags of alt coins in my Coinbase wallet, if anyone breaks out past $7500 or so I’ll probably get a new ledger for those.

Opinions on myetherwallet?

this...i guess your best bet is a hardware wallet with a privacypros steel seed phrase, but why not have tons of wallets? Anons want to shit on me for saying that, but its undeniably more secure. Then if some security issue does happen with a wallet, the rest are still secure, and you are aware its comped and usually why.

Fukken retards on this board i swear

its the standard for an airgapped wallet

Can I store SUTER on MEW?

I literally just use the metamask wallet, seems secure enough.

metamask for trading, trezor for long term storage
