>18, in my last year of high school >parents make about 100k/year >start looking into colleges, ask my parents how much they could support me with >boomer dad says hes not going to give me a single cent and that I can just join the military, waste my early 20s, "become a man" and get free college after >quality for no student aid because of my income grant
Fuck college. Just start your own business: >start a tech company >figure out what the hot new thing is >hire a bunch of pajeets on Upwork to build it for you. >make millions.
College is a scam unless you are going for STEM. There was nothing I learned there that I couldn't have learned better on youtube.
Brandon Campbell
Don't go to college and don't join the army. Make some money, invest in crypto shitcoins until they moon, and kill your parents when you are rich.
James Roberts
Quit being a pussy and just get a real job. College is the biggest meme of the 21st century
John Perry
i dont post here, i didnt know where else to ask. i made a post on reddit and they removed it for some bullshit reason

>My dad wants me to waste my early 20s in the military instead of wasting my early 20s in university noooooooo!!!
Oliver Clark
haha I experienced the same thing except my parents did pay for my first year. I've gotten lucky and received scholarships that have paid for almost all of tuition. I make an hour commute because student housing is way too expensive. Just apply for a ton of scholarships and hope that you get some. Keep living at home even though it may not be cool or as fun, it also fucks up your social life, but you won't have much debt.

Your dad is actually right, college is worthless. Learn a trade or go military, both good options.
Dominic Morales
So if I don't go to college, what exactly do I do then? Become a tradesman or something? I'm not spending the prime years of my youth around a bunch of mexicans and blacks fighting for Israel
Aiden Rodriguez
Just don't join the fucking navy whatever you do
Tyler Lewis
Even computer science and maths can be learned online from pajeets anyway

You sound like a little bitch. If you didn’t apply for scholarships that’s your own fault. Better learn how to suck dick and spread cheeks

go to community college for 2 years while working part time. take out FEDERAL (not private) student loans. transfer to a state school. graduate with """"minimal"""" debt.
absolutely do not take out private loans.
Landon Smith
It makes no sense why this greedy nigger won't help pay, he has the money. Everyone at my school is getting theirs paid for, and everyone who's poor is getting theirs paid for through student aid because they come from a poorer household.
Also this nigger won't cosign any sort of student loans at all. Literally leaving me out to dry
The military is actually pretty awesome. Just go into something that gives you a skill you can use in life. There aren't many professional artillery gunners in the civilian world.

Do militairy, learn to program, and request an assignment at DIA
Youll have a very cool life

What were you planning to do if you went to college? Most things you can learn in college you can learn elsewhere for cheaper
Luke Johnson
this is the right choice user. go to the Air Force or the Navy. Get free college after. You even get veterans preference when applying for jobs. Don't forget to do something practical in college like electrical engineering or applied mathematics. You could even study a little while you work in the military.
Jace Sullivan
>So if I don't go to college, what exactly do I do then? Become a tradesman or something?
What specifically in the military should I do for that?
Christian Ross
Learn a trade, use that money to invest in crypto, start your own company. We will always need electricians etc., don't be stupid and waste 4 years for a meme diploma. Most of those paper pushers will get eradicated by robots and AI

As much as this board shits on the jeets, they do have a video for every tech problem gotta give em that.

Go into the workforce for a while. Figure out what you wanna do. Unfortunately some parents are like that. If you work for a while eventually you will age out and be eligible for financial aid if you still wanna go.
Unfortunately some boomers just don't get that the system is getting more and more rigged for their children as they get older. Yet they expect you to take care of them despite them doing the bare minimum of supporting you as you transition to an adult. I've noticed that, as the collective age of this site has increased (since you know, you're here forever) there is a really bad mindset of "Fuck you I got mine"
If I'm being blunt my biggest regret is not taking a gap year when my debt was still low. I would have been able to get a year of financial aid, banked some money to quit my job (working part time ruined my life and made me depressed so my education really suffered) and kinda thought about the future. The added benefit is that when my dad coomed himself to death back in April, the loans he had in his name would have been discharged. The only reason I can see going to college right out the gate is if you stay in the dorm when you turn 18 and try to learn not to be autistic. I was 21 when I moved to college where I did so no point in staying in the dorm then. But go out and enjoy some youth user. Get a job. You're debt free. Savour that feeling. I have a mech e degree that I realized I should have done electrical right in my last semester, 75k of student debt, and a dead end gis job that I only make 58k at. There's more to this world than wage slaving for kikes. If you need something to do, maybe go get gis certified from a course and go and work for some company doing that. They always need people at the lower spectrum and you would probably start at 40k
If even that is too much work for you, join the National Guard. They'll pay for your college while you're still doing it, and you only have to work two days a month. Plus access to TriCare (super cheap health insurance), preferential hiring by government agencies, etc.
