How retarded am I to buy a condo in Miami Beach FL. Now that I can work from home permanently

How retarded am I to buy a condo in Miami Beach FL. Now that I can work from home permanently.

Is this a terrible idea financially?

Do you really, actually, serriously, unironically, want to live in fucking Florida?

Why would you ask for financial advice without describing the state of your finances?

Sounds like fun lifestyle. Living on the beach with warm weather year round. Surrounded by beautiful women in bikinis.
70-80k a year. 0 debt.

Because this is the kind of retard that wants to live in Florida full time.

The market there must be liquid and appreciating. Just make sure to move when you have kids

>Sounds like fun lifestyle.
Try before you buy. That's all I can really say about it.

Why do people like Miami so much? Is it the pussy or the cocaine or something? I don't think I could live in that climate

Hey user. I’ve spent some time in the area. Have you visited yet?

My tip, if you want to buy a condo on the Miami coastline, go a little further north of Miami Beach (like surfside, bal harbor, sunny isles, Hollywood beach).

I’m not even some some right wing nut job, but Miami Beach itself is literal degeneracy. It’s gross and overwhelming and dirty and kind of frightening at times. But if you go north like even just a couple miles it’s super chill and totally beautiful.

Hey the taxes there arent bad

>I have never lived in one state and worked in another; the post

yes, do it and no state income tax

Born and raised in FL, the idea you have of here is hilarious and expected. Not paying income tax is worth it but I give you 2 months before the combo of Miami traffic and the typical people you have to deal with will make you regret it. Also, enjoy your condo being underwater/uninhabitable in about 20 years, Miami is drained swamp land that is below sea level. You're fucking stupid go to the midwest, the bikini girls are with dudes who make what you make in a year in a week. Fuck, I hate you stupid ass yankee mfers.

No. I actually was planning to earlier this year but I moved for job so was busy with that then covid happened. I am going to. But I lived in New Jersey and love beach life, used to go to the beach every weekend in the summer when I lived there.

You think I can buy something decent for 300k range? Condo fees seem like a pain though. But I guess it is expected. I looked on zillow and seems somewhat cheap but then condo fees are 500 a month. Also I read that south Florida real estate is overpriced. So don't want to buy something for it to crash 20+% in a year.

>Miami will be underwater in 20 years
Doubt

Miami beach is the most overrated place in south florida which is an already overrated place. You will regret moving there within 3 months. The people are rude, the traffic is fucking atrocious, the infrastructure is shit, and the women are the worst kind of vapid whores, listening to them talk will make you wanna blow your brains out after about 30 seconds.

t. lived in Miami for 15 years

Delray or west Palm is way nicer and way cheaper.

Florida is the place to be if you want to deal drugs or something, you could probably make a killing. If you aren’t there for that, why the fuck did you move to Miami OP

Cheap real estate and beautiful geography

Florida is fuckin great if you stay away from the major cities. I love my state, I don't know why so many people hate it here.

If you're into cars/guns there's not really a better state to live in besides maybe Texas.

>geography
>flat coast

t. some appalachian hick or even worse a fly over cuck

for me, it's Del Rey beach Florida

Miami born and raised here.

Notice how this cuck said Florida born and raised and not Miami. This whole post is a cope about not living in the best part of Florida.

Where the best place you have lived then?

Okay this is fair. Got popped driving 104 in a 65 with weed and the Trooper just said “yeah man ima have to write you up, 40 over is too much. 85 youre good, 95 you’re pushing it but depends on the day I’m having. Here, I wrote it as 9 over.” Speeding is very normal down there.

Regardless, I’m trying to leave but I still wanna own property here for taxes. Florida has become unbearable during corona, with everything closed all you can do is outdoor shit and it’s been sweltering. I suppose a few months from now it’ll be nicer again. But the overall vibe is very self centered. If you come from somewhere community oriented you may not enjoy it so much

So you have a fetish for grannies?

fake islands and concrete bridges. You're right, that's beautiful geography.

top kek

top kek . based and redpilled

I mean those buildings and roadways are nice. But that whole neighborhood looks vulnerable to flooding

>70-80k a year. 0 debt.
not enough, unless you have already saved at least $1mil in cash

I heard Miami is insanely expensive but it seems like you can afford it.
Eh for all the flack florida gets it seems like a fun place to live at the very least, kind of like irl gta:vc.

Housing market will crash 12-18 months after stock market crash, it always has, and it always will. So why the fuck would you buy now at the peak?
