Does following Boomer advice ever work?
Does following Boomer advice ever work?
That sounds like a good idea on paper but at the end they'll likely kick your ass out on the curb without a thank you.
I mean, the underlying advice is that the work you do leads to skills you gain. And even if that employer doesn’t end up hiring you, you could leverage that skill set into another job and say you’re currently working as an “intern” without disclosing pay status.
>And even if that employer doesn’t end up hiring you, you could leverage that skill set into another job and say you’re currently working as an “intern” without disclosing pay status.
This, at worst you get a resume item which is still better than nothing.
Obviously if you don't lick their balls, show genuine interest and learn fast they will have incentive to hire you. This is good advice for someone who is hungry and outgoing, but not for someone without exceptional networking and people skills.
I did exactly what was said in that post. It works if you actually think your worth a shit. I now make 6 figures working from home as a Wendy's head chef with a phd in mathematics. Literally get paid to shitpost because i wasn't a pussy like you asking questions and not taking control of your own life.
It's good advice for soulless smoothbrain NPCs
This would work great in a high trust society.
>leverage
This is a jewish weasel word used by jewish weasels to jew you.
Job market has gone to such shit you have to compete with others by literally working for free and even then you have to hope that you get something out of it.
Fuck this earth. Everybody should stop working, let the Jews and niggers of this world starve. We must stop feeding the parasites
If everyone did this, the economy would recover a lot faster
it completely ignore reality. if you work you are cut off from unemployment. no employer would let you work without being "on the books" as an employee because of liability over access to confidential/proprietary information, the risk of on the job injuries even in an office setting, etc. in reality no company would hire you to work for free because of this, and also because you come off like a desperate faggot. and even if it did happen, you would go from collecting unemployment to collecting nothing with no promise of a job. it's a boomer delusion.
>Work for free
HEY, RABBI
this was a great way to get ahead in 1950 when this guy was our age but companies generally just use people up and go to the new fresh bodies once they're done with you
we don't live in the society he thinks we do
It sounds nice. But the hard bit is getting in the door in the first place. Getting past the receptionist/HR manager who couldn't give a shit and will only do things by the book. (And taking on unpaid labour is probably an administrative headache if not outright illegal.) If you can actually contact someone senior who happens to be looking for a bit of help and actually reads your email/picks up the phone, then great.
But this is what boomers don't seem to get, I guess because it was so different in their day. They think you can just waltz through the door and talk to someone with decision-making power straight away. For anything other than entry-level services jobs, that's pretty unusual nowadays and receptionists mostly exist to keep plebs like you out.
Reality is that any worthwhile company won't let you do this.

you're right, if you did this, it wouldn't work for sure
Based redpiller
than u based boomer id even pay you to work for you master
Honestly fuck boomers.
>sucked most of the wealth out of the economy
>rug pull what's left.
>haha! now you can be our slaves
>hi user, how can I help you?
>h-hi... im unemployed and...uh... could i work... could i w-work for you for free?
>I'm sorry, but we don't just give internships to random people who come in off the street. Please apply through our internship program.
>oh...uh... how many... how many people usually get in through those...?
>We usually take in around 5 interns a year. Though this year we're cutting to 3 due to budget constraints during the recession.
>Oh..and... how many p-people... usually apply?
>Oh I don't know, I think we usually get a couple hundred applicants or so, though the program has been surprisingly popular this year, for some reason. If you have additional questions, you can contact our hiring department for more information.
>oh... ok... thanks...
I did it at a small business in my town and the guy taught me a lot. I made him 6k per month and the only thing he would do was buy me lunch. He often times asked me to fund his business and like a retard I did. Never got a penny out of him. The only thing it did help me with is that he was on city council and thus as his minion I was rendered untouchable in the city. I ended up getting a high paying job because of that later so it worked out
no
my boomer grandma FUD'd me into putting only half my life savings in LINK
It’s advice for losers given out by the clueless.
it's because you kids these days don't have enough gumption and common-sense know-how.
This advise is good only when you can learn skills from the work.
I hate Boomers like the one in OP's pic with a blazing hatred. I hope that guy dies from Covid
How is it possible to be a boomer and not a multimillionaire?
>Internships are evolving
Better idea. Why not kidnap his grandkids (in Minecraft) and hold them for ransom? You'd at least make money.
That can't be real
Why can't it? People already pay (college) to get jobs. This is the next step.
Top kek. Dumb fucking boomer. Boomer greed, delusion, and stupidity knows no bounds.
it's not, but it will be soon.
No. The answer is no. The answer will always be No. If some out of touch old (((executive))) tells you to do something the main benefit will be for (((them))) and not you
I think there has only been one or two examples so far. But it does seem the logical next step. If you have hundreds of freshly graduated young people applying to work for free and willing to put themselves into further debt why not just outright ask them to pay you for something that is clearly in high demand.
