Epic games wanted to sell their in-game "vbucks" without apple their usual cut on stuff sold on their platform. Apple disabled fortnite on IOS once they found out. Epic immediately sued and released a video showing they were aware the attempt violated apple policies. Epic claimed they were trying to make it more fair for small game makers. Apple produced emails showing Epic was literally asking for special treatment. Apple maybe did overstep their bounds a bit by preventing unreal engine updates in retaliation, the judge did tell them to knock that off but refused to re-instate fortnite.
