I threw 4 eth on monday on a presale, it pumped hard and my 4 eth turned to 11 eth. I didn't sell because i thought it would get pumped harder if it listed on Coingecko when it did i just dumped and i sold for 1.7 Eth loss.
I even had the chance to get out break even but i couldn't.

simple, you learn from it. take this experience and have a plan in place for when you make your next trade. know what you plan on doing if shitcoin pumps 2x or 3x in the short term. know what your plan is if it dumps or bleeds. take profits if youre not in it long term.

What you are going to have to go through to /make it/ is challenging but you will grow. You must learn to detach your subconscious association of money and happiness. You are incapable of looking at things objectively and making sound investment decisions if you are emotional.
MANY people fall victim to their emotions while trading because of the way they view money. Emotionally weak people NEVER make it. Take this experience and learn to detach
Amortize that loss over the years like the faceless corporations, user. I lost a shit ton on crude oil futures courtesy of a surprise OPEC announcement about 10 years ago and swore that shit off for good. Was able to finagle it into a capital loss and reduced my income by $3K until it was eaten up. At this point it was just a few bucks a day. So take advantage of your tax situation and let time eat it away my man.

i feel you man, i have rode like 10 3-5x coins and the first like 5 i had every opportunity to sell for crazy gains and didnt, and rode it down to much less profit. realized it in my last few runs that a lot of these uniswap pumps go 3-6x then just stop. new rule is to sell at least 75% if a coin goes up 3x.

Cant win em all. Imagine if you could guess every high and every low. Impossible, it will always go higher or lower. The other week I made a trade at a high point and did well, but it kept going up I probably could have made double but then whose to say I would have sold, if Id held long itd only be a dollar or two higher now. (Ive also made v bad trades cause I got thrown in deep end with high leverage when first starting, I use to regret then, now I see it as learning) Im hustling now so I can get myelf into a good position and be satisfied with long holds, at that point I will set it and forget it. this is the best plan, long term strategy.
