The transaction limit and cost of ETH is the main limiting factor at the moment and it promises a x100 with the second version to be released in Q4 2020. There is a planned side chain support planned for Q1 2021 which would make ETH2 completely obsolete.

It all depends on where we go post corona. If we have a perma "new norm" tracing programs are going to be put into place and it will speed up oracle based systems. If you look at crypto space and integration from corporations its all just small team shit. The tech is not there yet but it is slowly getting there. The key for now is that there is a usecase for crypto besides creating scamcoins (although some might say sushi is an example of shitcoin there are legit systems that are functioning better because of chainlink).
