Seeing if any anons with connections In the industry frequents biz. Seems like all the algorithms on streaming services are rigged for big labels artists.
How to make it in music industry?
As what? A musician? I know a thing or two.
self promote, don't be dull.
interactions are great and create solid base.
Yup. Soundcloud and spotify algorithms got fucking raped around late 2017/early 2018. I made absute garbage meme rap on SC early 2017 and got an insane following for such little effort until one day the algorithms changed and my new plays plummeted. Friend and I kept trying to grind but at this point the entire industry is disgustingly pay-to-play. Literally every conceivable avenue has a significant paywall. Even the ones you haven’t thought of and will stumble upon in like 2 months and think “wow this is such a gem, this could be my ticket!!!” has been absolute kike shit for over two years. We have reached peak Weimar.
Network your ass off. That's the whole thing these days. The more people you know the further you'll go.
Aim for a licensing/sync deal, don't worry about labels. Meet people who put together playlists at Spotify.
take it from someone who has toured the world and has about 100,000,000 streams on spotify:
It's rigged. There is no money. You tour to grind cash and that's the only way. It's fucked. I quit the band because it wasn't worth the fucking work anymore. In what world is that fair? 100m fucking streams and I'm still poor living in a shitty apartment, still stuck in a label contract and uninspired to make music anymore.
Honestly the only money to be made in music now is to get lucky on shitcoins, make 6 figures, and pay top dollar for a really professional looking website that lists paid Spotify playlists (which you secretly own). Charge high schoolers out the ass for the chance to get big. You can’t beat the jew, so become one.
never underestimate yourself
music builds character from all the suffering but the small rewards are often a snowball effect waiting to blow.
with that said, INTERACT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ON THE SOCIALS
you want to be appealing
(i'd think unless you have aspergers and cant take the daily attention that comes with "making it in the music industry")
Any tips on where to find these ppl?
So did you give up on music or are you still on the grind?
Shitcoins would be okay If we developed a sure fire way to weed out pajeets scamming bizraelis. And as temping as being a jew is have to pass on that.
Synagogues
That sucks user, if you want to share connections or drop a proton mail to offer mentorship that'd be cool, but sounds like industry Is so kiked that all the enjoyment has been sapped out
Facts
if you had any talent you wouldn't be asking us.
I thought of a token idea for this last week.
You have a website called Artist of the Day (Beat of the Day for producers).
You buy AOTD tokens. The more percentage of tokens you have, the more likely you will be randomly chosen as Artist of The Day and be listed at the front of the site. So the lottery gives everyone a chance plus the demand to get listed increases token price. If you become a whale and only your music gets posted, the website will become less attractive and token demand will drop.
>still stuck in a label contract
make however many shitty albums you need to get out of it.
Gonna steal your idea. Thanks. Don't post your ideas online next time
Go for it lol I don't have the competency to make it. Plus I just need a 5x with crypto to be done with all this shit.
I unironically did and it's easy as fuck. Just don't be a retard and make friends with other artists and you can easily absorb their fanbases. Learn how to do as much of it by yourself as you can e.g. audio engineering, recording, producing, marketing, graphic design etc. The fewer things you have to pay to have done the more money you have for ads or to invest in equipment.
You really don't want to be in the industry though. If you're on Zig Forums and aren't a tourist, the music industry was not built for you. It's for the brain dead who don't mind selling their soul or being a puppet. Trust me on this.
I want to make indie/synth pop music like Kids by MGMT. Any tricks on making catchy synth pop? I use Logic Pro X and currently have an album out on Spotify that's just instrumental but none of them are catchy.
I learned how to track, mix and master my own material. Any tips for best use of funds to advertise? Best ways to meet musicians to steal their fans?
IMO Problem is more of getting exposure. Catchy melodies is a trial and error thing. With more exposure can get feedback which will help tailor your sound.
Bump
and now tours dont even exist.
Forget it OP do it for the love. Just plow your gains into promotion and dont expect to see a penny in returns.
I gave up, that friend I mentioned stabbed me in the fucking back and stole what little following we had by locking me out of our shared social media and rebranded it to his own bullshit. 3 weeks before george floyd he was ranting to me about how angry he was that his wife’s sister was “dating a nigger” (his own words kek), then for some reason when nig floyd died he did a complete 180 and became super pro-BLM and threatened to delete everything we’ve made if I didn’t change my opinions to agree with him.
I like this idea too. If you do steal his idea give everyone in this thread a bag so we can be whales and help shill it
this. live music is over. I was going to post your reply to him but I felt like I was being too depressing.
>talent
aha hahaha
I created a version of a song that instead of in the major key it is the minor key. Will I get sued for that and would it be for more than how much I profit off it?
Another song I want to release but it samples an obscure Indian song. I contacted them to use it but had no reply.
my band covered an extremely famous song, pressed it on vinyl, etc, and never have been contacted by the estate or owner of the rights. We made a lot of cash off of it too.
He can always airdrop some tokens. Since I provided the idea it'd be cool to receive like 1% of the tokens. I think that'd be totally fair.

Get work for a label, maybe do sound engineering or mastering, and if you want to make your own music do it as a side project.
Honestly the music world is fucked. Currently have work at a recording studio and I make more money doing work with dumb teenage girls who want to be the next Arianna Grande or dumber dudes who think their mumble shit folk rap rock really will definitely be good this time than I ever did trying to make music I actually wanted or playing gigs and shit.
Shit this gives me hope! Was it on Spotify and everything?
yep, still there too.
Sucks man. Noticed the fake woke BLM very pervasive in music now. Watched the Freshman XL freestyles... all about social justice bullshit. I understand some of the lyricism is a reaction to late 2010s mumble rap but goddamn.
with over 300k monthly listeners. youll be fine
Do you have a protonmail? This isn't op but i'm trying to get into the music industry as well, and wanted to ask for some general advice and specific questions in regards to the industry.
Nice! I currently have 0 monthly listeners as I've done no marketing but just wanted to put an album out so I felt like I'd done something.
i dont, but i'll answer here if you have questions. definitely an inside man so ask away.
Run a label or try to establish a high profile recording studio. Being a musician is the lowest chance to make it in music industry. That sounds like shit and it is, but it's true.
Local man. Yes the internet means you can create communities but they're so much of that. Go to a bar, book a show, etc. promote. People are more willing to spend on stuff that's around them
this guy right here
I’m trying to become an R and B artist. What is basically the best way for me to make it. I am 25 years old but unironically look 18 (I don’t know if age matters but it probably does). I started making music recently.
Apart from just trying to make and produce my own music (I’m a pretty good singer as well), what else can I do? Also, should I continue to develop skills to learn music production better or am I better off just trying to pay people off for that?
Essentially, I’m trying to make it as fast as possible. Also, if you have any other way of contacting you, please let me know. I just really want this to happen. I have nothing else to live for
I agree user. Believe I should get 1% too because I started the thread that inspired you to post your idea ;)
