Thats why you don't buy online, ever....my LCS was selling silver at 19.5x today, very close to spot. He even sold me a 1/10 gold coin at spot. Same one is on APMEX for 10-20% over spot. Its insane the markups online
It depends why you're buying silver. If you're buying to hold for decades, 100oz bars will give you the most silver for your buck. But if youre trying to flip silver for gold and vice versa using XAU/XAG ratio, then fractional is much better

LCS has very low turnover is all. He probably bought that metal 20 years ago from your grandpa at 1/4 of the current price and then wrote it off as a business expense the same year. So it's all profit at pretty much any price.

My LCS doesn't even know my name, he just makes a comment of "Oh youre the junk silver guy" and I buy everything in his silver pile. Some days its 30 dollars face, sometimes its a 1.50 face, I doubt he even likes me lol

Apmex is great in that they have just about everything, but they're a huge company and they make you pay a lot over spot. Agreed. Monument Metals is much smaller, has less selection, but what they do have is much closer to spot. I like them both, for different reasons, and I really don't have a LCS so there's that.

Is that about 500 ozt? I'm at 445 after about 3 months, but I'm switching to gold. Got .5 ozt gold, and am looking to buy at least 1/10th an ounce per week until I get to 5.
