What was crypto trading like in the early days?

like in the early 2010s and shit. back when all it was known for was buying drugs off silk road.

People buying pizzas with multiple btc

there really wasn’t any real trading like we have today until about 2014. before then you had to actually wire money to mtgox and wallets were so shit. so basically it was nonexistent

T-that's a man.
Also I am quite curious as to how things worked back then. I imagine it was pretty rough having no exchanges

I used my btc for buying steam games

i only bought drugs with crypto, had i simply held all the btc instead of:

buying MDMA
selling it
getting robbed
having someone that works for me killed
having people that worked for me beaten up

etc

then I would have some money now.

and no i dont feel bad the faggot died, im a psycho, we dont do that here. I do feel bad I didnt hold though, i think I had 90 btc at one point

Oh really? And what was your name again?

cops already caught me, i sold small amounts so i got community service, it just wasnt worth it i lost money doing it

No one from that era is still here.

Fucking degenerate scumbag. People like you are unironically the reason for why crypto will never takeover and will forever remain a niche hobby. You're responsible for the stigma.

It was really hard to get fiat in and out of mtgox. I forgot what it was called, but there was a 3rd party service you had to use. It was also the first time I saw a realtime depth chart of the orderbook. I spent $100 to buy 20 BTC back then.

i was a kid user calm down
kids do stupid shit

>I spent $100 to buy 20 BTC back then.
what did you end up doing with them?

you should be thanking us for making a market where that was none previously. also feel like a retard for using mine for the old happy crystal flip

I should have went all in on crypto back then, but hindsight is a mf. After mtgox imploded, I didn't get back into crypto until 2016.

it was fun. it was enormous every time it moved $10

the BTC-e trollbox was where it was at. it was like, early Zig Forums

the russians built in a little chatroom on the front page of the trading platform lmao

It was almost exactly like all the shitcoins of today except there was only one of them.

when did all those meme comes like dogecoin come along?

sure pops... go to sleep kay?

I sold those 20 BTC at $250, because I thought 25x was great, and I didn't want to be too greedy. Big regret.

few of us knew what btc would become in those days, it was just cool being able to buy shit with weird coins online like super mario

Wait, not 25x. 50x. Bought at 5, sold at 250.

what trading? it was just silk road money

btc-e was fucking great

>having someone that works for me killed
story time user pls
let me just finish contemplating ARPA and you can tell it

If you got in in 2016 you should be a millionare

You could mine Bitcoin on your office computers but since they were worth nothing it was all about exiting the tech. Lots of IT people out there wishing they'd kept better tabs on their wallets

*exploring the tech

Anyone remember Fontas?

Bros... I can't... They're so fuckin cute..

Yuuuup. It's funny because even back then people would say stuff like 'could be a million dollars one day!' and such, but it just seemed silly.
