I was checking Chainlink's Github today and it looks like the contracts for staking were implemented in Arbitrum...7 months ago...you won't find this in the normal Chainlink repo, I had to find these in the Arbitrum repo they recently made public 3 days ago. I think maybe they forgot to make these files private.

Unless something has changed, you won't need a certain amount of tokens to stake, this has been said by the team multiple times. However, even if you did, you can always use a pool like most coin miners do nowadays anyway.

You need Link tokens for Arb staking. Arbitrum doesn't have its own token.

Yes you need to put down a penalty deposit for Arbitrum, but I don't think they would call this staking, as you can see for the Link token on the Matic Network they don't refer to tokens deposited as staked but minted - I know these are a bit different but I doubt they would refer to penalty deposits as staking. In other places in the code they reference deposits as well and not staking generally

At the very least, if you are correct and this is referring to staking LINK as a penalty deposit for Arbitrum, then you realize that this means Chainlink is a crucial component of Arbitrum - Arbitrum nodes will have to stake LINK in order to ensure they come to agreements about each block, and if they don't they will get slashed AND ALSO you will have Chainlink nodes staking LINK to ensure their data is correct.
So basically, if this does not mean LINK staking for Chainlink nodes, it's even more bullish because it means LINK will need to ALSO be staked for Arbitrum nodes....this is huge

Arbitrum is the solution to the spam attack we saw a few days ago. It’s a sublayer solution that goes around ethereum gas costs and allows each chain to communicate with offchain information via the chainlink network. So if a smartcontract user wants to execute their contract they will do so through arbitrum/chainlink. Chainlink will reach consensus, then send to whatever chain is cheapest or specified, that blockchain will execute settlement and send back to chainlink.
